Running 2:58:50 [3] 14.5 mi (12:20 / mi)
weight:163lbs shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 295

Huntsville with Chris. RR50 loop minus the final Dogwood/Lake loop. Brutal. First 10 miles were okay. Right foot hurt, but then sort of faded to a bearable level of ache. Legs felt strong but not lively. Managed the heat okay for a while, but around the 10-11 mile mark, things fell apart. Much more walking toward the end, which isn't necessarily a bad thing in late July, but the final mile or so, the foot was pretty painful. Not sure how I'm going to manage this issue. Still, good to get away from the usual and log some miles.

Running 28:02 [3] 3.3 mi (8:30 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara 2

Hermann short. Test run after three days off due to hurty foot. Well, hurty foot still hurts. For the first 5 minutes or so, it was fine. Then it hurt. Then it sort of eased up a bit at the end. Will give tomorrow's run a go and see how it shakes out over longer distance. Rest did the shin good though.

Day off to let the hurty foot chill out.

Running 30:25 [3] 3.3 mi (9:13 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara 2

Hermann short. Well, that sucked. Legs were predictably dead, but that wasn't the problem. The ache on the ball of the right foot behind the second and third metatarsals became a full-blown pain this morning. Reduced me to walking a bit and then to consciously heel striking. Hopefully it's just a bruise/overuse sort of thing. Going to take a couple of days off and let it rest, which will also help my increasingly pissy left shin.

Running 48:54 [3] 5.0 mi (9:47 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara 2

Sunday afternoon trails. Fortunate to have some cloud cover and a pretty good breeze (there was rain nearby, but not on me), which served to drop the heat index from 110 to a nippy 100 or so. And, honestly, it made a difference. Hit the gate in 23:50 and threw in a couple of shortish walks on the return. Not a terrible run.
