Running 45:00 [1]

Spring run with Patrick. Tried taking Daisy running with us and it failed miserably and had to take her back to the house. Will try again next time, but looks like she needs to be on the long leash a bit to get in the habit.

Had a nasty ankle twist, but survived.

Note

Due to history I didn't have the nerve
But is RouteGadget the new press release?

Running 35:00 [1]

A wee run. Who's around TO and the Hammer this weekend?

Running 45:00 [3]

Busy weekend so only time for a quick run.

I was going to post on the US Champs thread as to why they are having their champs before the season, but is there a US Champs thread? Odd...

Previously started hearing rumours about CCC turnover:

Telemark/Alpine (Tele) 1:00:00 [1]

Half-day tele skiing at Mont Ste-Marie. Lovely warm day, pretty good conditions.

I bet MSM would be a pretty good O spot, but it is over an hour north of Ottawa and maybe too far.

Cross-country skiing 1:30:00 [3]

A rather warm skate ski from P7. Should have gone super early but got puttering around at home.

So, Canada won a medal in the Mens Relay at Biathlon World Champs. Biathlon! One of the biggest winter sports in Europe!

http://www.cbc.ca/sports/olympics/winter/biathlon/...

Team gets very little, if any, federal funding and has been improving steadily improving under the radar. Everyone lives and trains in Canmore.

So if Canada can win a medal in a biathlon relay at Worlds, what else is possible?

Note

Anyone following how the SkiTour Canada is going over in Europe? I'm sure this discusses it, I think:

Cross-country skiing (classic) 1:30:00 [1]

This day did not go according to plan. But at least a nice ski in.

Cross-country skiing (skating) 2:00:00 [3]

Well didn't go to Quebec City to watch the WCs so stayed home and went for a great 2 hour ski with Karl and Megan (and Leena). They forgot to tell me that they'd each be doing some intensity so first tried to hang with Karl and then more successfully tried to stay with Megan.

Perfect ski conditions in the Gats, well groomed and with the Cookie-Biener taking place half of the Ottawa juniors were in the park. Great fun.

Also new shades worked well.

Start the weekend off with a decent little ski in the dark.

You know, a little ambition is a good thing now and then:

Very very well done.
