Orienteering Race 1:18:08 [3] *** 6.2 km (12:36 / km)
spiked:5/13c

Very sloppy day at Kingsmere. Tough nasty woods and just couldn't see the controls or move very quickly in the woods, lots of staggering. Margis won, and he was complaining about how hard it was. I was very slow on a couple of long legs as I had trouble reading the terrain.

Running 50:00 [3]
(sick)

Still sick, anytime this cold wants to go away will be fine by me. Run along the canal with JennyD. Felt very slow, legs tight from the Gats yesterday. Dark and starting to be cold.

Running 1:30:00 [3]
slept:6.0 weight:155lbs (sick)

Long run with Dougie, there was an Orienteering event pretty much the same place (P7) but after being sick this entire week, I just felt like running to keep warm and clean out my body. Just a long boring week of being sick, but awesome run with Doug, Penguin, Ridge, Skyline, King Mountain and back to Chelsea

Running 45:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2070

A bad night of sleeping, plus a stressful day. Big government application due today and general stuff. Only had time for a fast hard run by the river.

Orienteering Race race 1:14:00 [4] *** 7.2 km (10:17 / km)
spiked:10/15c slept:5.0 weight:155lbs

National Capital Champs at Lac Beauchamp. Had a brutal run, lots of little mistakes, Margis won in 49! Made a big blow-up going to 11, lost contact through an unmarked area as I tried to get fancy when I should have taken the easy route at that stage. Lots of little mistakes for a race I should have done very well in. Not thinking clearly, the late night talk with Ali probable cause.

Running long 1:25:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2070

Big run with Freddy in the Gats. Mostly a zone 4, but had to stop at the top of Penguin, plus totally bailed and had to walk off a hip wound. Awesome run.

Running intervals 20:00 [5]
shoes: Asics 2070

Track workout. I'm not sure on the whole numbers, doing sprints up to 500m repeats, but at most it would be 20 minutes. A pretty cold nasty day, windy. Everyone felt bad, well, Freddy felt okay.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [1]

Warming up, cooling down for track workout.

Running 38:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2070

Just a basic run. Felt good, but really busy today with stuff, so not much time.

Orienteering Race race 1:06:01 [4] *** 8.1 km (8:09 / km)
spiked:27/29c slept:7.0

Ontario Champs O-Cross Mass Start. Placed 6th, behind Lazlo, Hans, Nick, BG, and JRoc. Pretty happy with my run, although I could have been faster on the uphills. Just about perfect terrain for me, mega-open pine forest with lots of trail running. Would have liked to have stayed with a pack, but ran hard on my own. One route choice, 6-7 on each loop I might have gone the slower way the first two times.

Running 1:05:00 [3]

Run in the Westdale trails, didn't go to Ontario Champs long day in order to hang out at home. Felt okay, pretty slow at times. Started out a little hard.

Orienteering Race race 44:11 [4] **** 4.78 km (9:15 / km) +170m 7:51 / km
spiked:13/18c

Day One, Middle length, Ontario Champs at Glen Haffy. Solid run, no major mistakes, could have been faster on the climbs, but pretty smooth. Hammer caught me, but I couldn't stay with him, but he made a mistake ahead of me, so the difference stayed about the same as I could see him a couple of times. Hammer 37 in 1st, Mark Adams 2, BG 3, Hans 4, me 5, Bob Miller 6.

Orienteering Race race 14:01 [5] *** 2.61 km (5:22 / km) +45m 4:57 / km
spiked:9/10c

Ontario Champs Sprint. Placed I think 6th (or 5th.) Caught Bob Miller at 1 and then ran with him, or trying to keep up the entire way. He's got wheels. Need to build strength for climbs and later in race legs. Actually, legs felt better than they usually do for a sprint after another O event.

Running 45:00 [3]

Bread and butter run through the Westdale trails. Felt okay, weak on the hills.

Running 45:00 [3]

Run through the Westdale trails and through the Mac campus. Pretty busy for the time of day, late afternoon. South Shore sucks now, stupid RBG. And don't get me started on what they did to Sasafras, former bread and butter run. If I move home, I'm going to work with a chainsaw there.

Orienteering Race race 13:00 [5] **

Sprint/park event at Gage Park. Had just driven home from Ottawa, missed the mass start which sucked, but just did the race as one loop. Gage park is the hardest park I've found to try to take a piss behind a tree.
