Obstacles Training 1:00:00 [5]

So this was fun. My friend Lissa convinced me to go to Ottawa Obstacles Course Centre to do a bootcamp trainng session.
The dude leading it was all "you'll be lucky to walk out of here" but I figured if it was legs I'd be okay. And it was a lot of legs.

Very similar to Carleton Nordic circuit training back in the day and I'm sure really good for me.

I'm looking for good indoor training, so either this or climbing.

Run in the Westdale trails.
Of course I saw Emma and friend just as I stopped to tie my shoes.

Running 45:00 [2]

Went to the Ottawa Adventure Film Festival today, and wow it was great! Very inspiring, probably just as good as the Best of Banff touring show.

Spoke to Dave afterwards about doing an Orienteering one. He'd be interested in being hired, but cautioned knowing the target. Is the goal to do a film that would work on the big screen, or on a computer screen / classroom setting.

Top Orienteering videos to send him? Are they the Hubman Bros?

Running 1:04:00 [2]

Great run with Nicky from P7 up to Fortune on Skyline and then looped around via Ridge. Then coffee.

Now off to House of Targ for Adventure Film Fest social action and pin-ball!

Orienteering Race 59:28 [4] 4.61 km (12:54 / km)

Ran the Short Advanced at Nakkertok after hitting the Chelsea Nordic Ski Swap. The doors opened at 10:00 am. I got there at 10:19 I think, maybe a few minutes earlier. Pretty much everything picked through. That's impressive!

Nakkertok: There's parts of this map which are just awesome, plus mega trail system is pretty confusing. But, it has always been used for season ending B events, the map could have more detail and probably expanded.
Would be an amazing place for a relay, or Forest Sprint.

My watch said 48 when I finished, but SI had me at 59, so mine must have stopped or something.

Running 1:15:00 [2]

Run from P7 on a chilly day. Great conditions, the cold froze up the trails.

Running 1:00:00 [3]

No French this week so went to Tues Night Trails!

Wicked workout, first a warm-up on the Waterfall Trail to a giant waterfall that I had never seen before.
Then the workout, 6 x 300 relay style. I didn't have a partner so ran with Dave, who was probably the fastest guy there so least amount of rest for me.

Then 3 x 150m up and down a paved section. Man, legs felt heavy.

But overall, great to be out running hard.

Note

I have very bad news for USA Ice Hockey fans. These are their 2018 Olympic sweaters:
