Nomads training at Yetar Springs.

Aimed to keep moving solidly throughout (which happened for the most part).

A few long legs with 3 or 4 sections of detail.

Time and distance a bit of a guess as I stopped my watch to take a prickle out of my toe and forgot to restart it.

MISPUNCH


Ruined a good run by not checking control descriptions and mispunching at #2. Looking at the GPS trace, I stopped about 5m short, where I looked up an saw the other control a short distance away and just assumed it was mine.

Lesson learnt.

Looking at the times, would have come 6th (was Tooms in the know with his prediction? Perhaps the CCC would like a tip off about match fixing at Nav Dash events) with a reasonably good time. Apart from the major blunder of mispunching, there were only a few boobles here and there. Upon reflection, most of the bobbles were due to not reading control descriptions and not knowing exactly what to look for (water heater was a prime example and even knowing that #2 was not on stairs would have stopped me from punching that one).

Hopefully, I'll use this as a learning exercise for next week's NOL events.

10 min @ 10k pace (which was 4:17), 60 sec rest, 2 x 1.5k in 6 minutes (done in 5:49 & 5:56).

Steady, comfortable session.

Tuesday Mar 1, 2011 #

2 x 15min @ 4:15 with 1 min jog in between.

Story of two halves - first run took a little while to get up to speed, the second one started faster and slowed a little.
