State Sprint Champs at Guildford Grammar.

WET!

Missed the best route to 1 but was okay from there through to 7. Saw fences around the pool area so I backed out and ran around but probably could have gone through according to the map. Bill caught me at 8 but then he went through the thick black line (and later a garden bed). Small hesitation at 15 (looked left, should have looked right), Steve caught me at 16. Managed to run with him to 18, but only just. GPS says we maxed out at 3:08 min/km on the way to 18. Didn't know I could run that fast, let alone at the end of a race dripping wet!

Good fun, lots of little corners to tuck controls into. I'd almost forgotten waht running in the rain was like!

Warm up plus 30 min at HM plus cool down. No idea what time/distance I actually did as I pressed the start/stop button rather than the lap button at the start of the tempo and didn't realise for most of the time. Judging on the speed displayed on the watch I think I would have kept this under a HM average of 4:30 for the tempo effort. Felt reasonable, although I definitely had to push to keep working hard enough.
