Orienteering 7:36 [4] 0.92 km (8:16 / km)
shoes: Saucony Peregrine 7

I ran option 3 and Dad ran option 2 of the "course choice" to see which was faster. I was happy with my choice as it played to my strengths and running it confirmed it was also faster anyway.

shoes: Saucony Peregrine 7

Knockout sprint control collection.

Running warm up/down 26:27 [3] 4.03 km (6:34 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4 (2)

RR training weekend in Speyside. Most of the group were keen to do Park Run and I happily went along to tick of another new one as control hanging was under control.

Running race 19:16 [5] 4.92 km (3:55 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4 (2)

Aviemore Park Run. Out and back, I was advised it was a nicer/quicker return due to being mostly downhill after the turn, however it was horrible as it was really windy with no shelter out on the moor! Found myself in no man's land pretty early on then managed to catch one guy ahead at about 3.5km to take 3rd place then alone all the way home. Scenic undulating course and nice to do another different one. Luckily just snuck under Dad's time for this course but I expected a lot better of myself.
Dad and I had a chat about training/plans for next year. I'm doing something wrong somewhere as I'm stuck in a rut with my running despite consistent training and a lot of hard work (I'm no faster than I was in 2015 when I was running well but then discovered I had some problems). I know I've got more in me, I feel my problems are currently under control but even though the orienteering results are improving the constant running disappointment is getting me a bit down. Advice being sought.

Orienteering 13:37 [3] 0.83 km (16:24 / km)
shoes: Saucony Peregrine 7

Map walk discussing contours (not timed). Actually good to start like this as hadn't been a technical contoured area for a very long time and easing legs into terrain. Slowed everything down, forced me to be confident. Then shadowing around a contours course.

Orienteering 14:26 [3] 1.69 km (8:32 / km)
shoes: Saucony Peregrine 7

Control collecting session 1. Absolutely beautiful forest, loved it.

Orienteering 18:44 [3] 0.99 km (18:55 / km)
shoes: Saucony Peregrine 7

Shadowing around compass and pacing exercise.

Orienteering 10:27 [3] 1.19 km (8:47 / km)
shoes: Saucony Peregrine 7

Control collecting session 2. Another lovely area, really enjoyed it.

Orienteering 11:31 [3] 1.06 km (10:52 / km)
shoes: Saucony Peregrine 7

Control hanging for control descriptions exercise.

Orienteering 8:37 [3] 0.87 km (9:54 / km)
shoes: Saucony Peregrine 7

Control collecting session 3 in the vague area.

Good to be back. Some new stuff and really enjoyed it, helped to loosen off a lot and even managed to do the bird pose...even if my hips then cramped.

Running warm up/down 34:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:40 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 2

Still chilling a bit but starting to ease back in, steady running this week but no sessions. I slept really badly so wasn't sure if this was a good idea but figured I was well rested enough last week and miss the routine. Proper dark.

Strength and Conditioning 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-1000 2

Back into things, Raymond suggested 3x10 for the next couple of weeks not worrying about weight before starting a plan. Variety of exercises from last winter, can almost still manage 3 pull ups. I'm sore already.

Running 37:05 [3] 6.85 km (5:25 / km)
ahr:164 shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

Oh how I have missed doms, lovely evening though.
