Running 53:05 [3] 9.35 km (5:41 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

Feeling much better than yesterday, only a bit of tension across forehead when it was really bright, so after a nice chilled day with friends headed out in the sun for a steady run. Water of Leith to Dean Village for sprinterval, then winding up and down Comley Bank to Stockbridge and home. Striding out efforts on all the downhills.

Orienteering 5:37 [3] 0.92 km (6:06 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

Included one sprinterval in Dean Village, left the rest for full session.

Running warm up/down 54:55 [3] 9.65 km (5:41 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

Usual warm up inc. drills and 1x90secs.
Longer warm down than intended as needed to be on 10:04 bus which is tight but as I got in sight of the bus stop the bus pulled away. Turns out timetable has changed and it's now 9:59. It does a long loop so decided I'd try and cut to catch it but as I came over the brow of the hill the bus was coming again...however there was a queue of people getting on so I put the foot down and luckily the driver saw me and waited. Lovely and sweaty but at least no one wanted to sit next to me as I didn't feel good. Head ache started then but managed to get home with enough time to lie down, with head under pillow away from light.

Running race 18:53 [5] 5.03 km (3:45 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Hyper Speed 6

Pretty poor and not filled with confidence. Never felt good and had no change of pace when passed. Quite a few hard sessions in the legs though I guess. However...I probably need to cut myself some slack as a few mins in I started to get a bit of blurred vision in my left eye, then a big blurry flashy circle which made me want to close my eyes. Thought it would just go away but it got worse, when I stopped it was still bad I realised it was probably the start of a migraine. A bit annoying as knocked my confidence but nothing important this weekend.

Note

Managed to feel well enough to spend the afternoon and evening with friends as planned. Headache less painful and reduced to a dull ache and then just tension. Couldn't read menu/concentrate and struggled a bit on the trian but at least it didn't spoil my day too much.

Spinning 45:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-1000 2

Usual, getting annoyed at the hugely biased BBC commentary...

10xBells Brae going every 3mins.

Running warm up/down 32:40 [3] 5.87 km (5:34 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4 (2)

Inc. some drills and strides.

Running intervals 32:29 [5] 4.86 km (6:41 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4 (2)

6x 400m (30secs) 200m (3mins) at the track with Laura.
Pretty bad DOMS all day before the session and knew from last time how broken I was after I did this session last time (even though sounds easy) so can't say I was looking forward to it. Nice spring Edinburgh evening...cold, windy with icy rain, really glad of company as really pushed each other on. Lactic build up unbelievable, jelly jelly jelly all over! Surprised myself though, times alright considering.

Running 4:00 [4] 0.47 km (8:31 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4 (2)

4xstrides going on the minute.

Running warm up/down 34:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:40 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 2

Back to the plan with a 6am start :'(, a bit sore from yesterday but at least it wasn't dark.

Strength and Conditioning 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-1000 2

Good session.

Running 28:11 [3] 5.64 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

Easy, hamstrings (particularly right) tight but legs turning over much better than expected. More Doms coming though. Really tired this afternoon but fine running, think just need more sleep, early night/lie in planned.
