Running 22:55 [3] 3.23 km (7:06 / km)
shoes: Icebugs Spirit OLX 2

Orienteering race 1:42:11 [5] 8.93 km (11:27 / km)
shoes: Icebugs Spirit OLX 2

Trossachs (6.8km / 540m).
Really outside my comfort zone but I wanted to run a really tough long race before the JK to give myself confidence.

Started badly though looking a hill too early for 1 (don't know why) so instantly caught by Jess. Terrain fitness really not there at all so was on my own again by 5. Tessa caught me going to 8 and re-caught Jess. I hadn't planned ahead for the long leg and they both went completely different ways and I panicked, ran round in a circle, stopped and decided on my route and obviously they were both gone. Came to the 2nd marsh with them in sight but obviously wasn't going to catch up. Happy I picked a route which suited me but hesitated a lot after that. Literally barely so a sole through the next few so reverted back to being super careful / hesitant. Mistakes on 13, 15 and 16 though and rubbish to 17. Planned the long leg earlier this time and told myself once I did that I was almost home to try and keep moving. Just really lacking confidence and tired coming in. Rubbish on the last control as just wanted to finish.

Negatives: Terrain fitness poor and slow towards end (both to be expected as this was as tough as it gets and I haven't done much in terrain or long). Not sticking to plan was cause of all mistakes.
Lack of confidence - (story of my life).

Positives: Confident can race round JK long as terrain should suit me better, although tired at end - nothing like past problems or dizzy/breathing issues. No absolute disasters i.e. having no idea where I was.

Running warm up/down 25:48 [3] 3.82 km (6:45 / km)
shoes: Icebugs Spirit OLX 2

Orienteering race 34:53 [4] 5.07 km (6:53 / km)
shoes: Icebugs Spirit OLX 2

South Achray Middle (4.4km 140m).
Pretty clean (apart from trying to take a non existent path on 1) and did my own thing which was my aim to try and get some confidence in the forest. Looking at map too much though literally going from feature to feature, lots of hesitating and almost running scared of making a mistake - failed to speed up when it actually was easy (bit in buildings/last two controls). Should have went through the river on 17.

However this was still positive :) a few minor things and this would have been an excellent result, just need to be more confident.
