Orienteering warm up/down 30:00 [3] 3.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: olway speed

W/u ~ ran most of the way to the start with Jonny:)

W/d ~ around the campsite place again with Jonny.

Orienteering race 1:21:15 [4] *** 7.1 km (11:27 / km) +165m 10:15 / km
spiked:21/25c shoes: olway speed

Lewisburn, Rushy Knowe and Leaplish.
Kielder day 2.

Had a much better run today:) Haven't seen the results but I am happy as I know I orienteered like I can. Again the map was wrong which made me realised why I lost so much time on number 3 yesterday as the ride I came down is a lot out.
No real mistakes apart from being really hesitant on 7 and on 10 as it was a linear marsh in lots of unmarked marsh.....if I had just kept running I would have seen it. Then on 12 I went up the wrong stream but realised before it was too late. Felt pretty tired on the last bit.
Had to swap onto a different scale map for the last few controls, wasn't good on the first one on that.
Had plans today and actually kept them all the way to the control, map contact was better and it was also an advantage having been out yesterday as some controls were the same and I knew the map was iffy.

....and whats more the sun was out all day:)

Orienteering warm up/down 20:00 [3] 1.5 km (13:20 / km)
shoes: olway speed

W/u ~ Ran to the start with Jonny, into the wind agh! Then I walked up the really steep bit, stretched.

W/d ~ Ran back from finish, then after went for a warm down with Jonny down the bike path:).

Wanted to go out and enjoy the course and come back feeling i'd had a good run, not worrying about anyone else. I failed...

Orienteering race 1:17:19 [4] 6.1 km (12:40 / km) +125m 11:30 / km
spiked:12/20c shoes: olway speed

Keilder Day 1
Nice and close for an event and was plesently surprised, usually it's really grotty down there but today there was some open and actually some white forest:)
Well, Jane (Jonny's mum) started behind me and I really didn't want her to catch me as I would never have lived it down.
First two went okish, then 3 was really bad as I was in the right place just was put of my an unmarked stream, Jonny also got lost in this area so was kinda iffy.... But on my way out I saw Jane coming in so knew I had to get it right.
A bit messy on 4, 5 was fine and then ran past 6 but relocated well. 7 ok again but 8 just ran and didn't read map resulting in me having to run back up hill. 9,10 ok. Then on 11 I started ok then didn't read the map so had to come back up hill again. 12 was in the wrong place. 13, 14 ok. Again on 15 I started off ok and then didn't read the map so had to come back up the hill.
Got out onto the track going to 16 and it was raining and felt good so ran hard but missed cut off so decided to just cut through green, was tough and then was met by a over dad's height fence!! So had no choice but to come back. On the map its marked as a crossable ruined fence! Absolutely scratched from the dark green:( Then the map was wrong again as the crag was wayyyyyy further down hill and not in trees (Jane also said it was wrong) so glad it wasn't just me making a big mess of it.
Rest ok really but 18 was like almost in a pond!!!!!! But after all that I beat Jane, I was worried:P

Noticed today that a lot of my mistakes come from having a plan to begin with, starting of executing plan then losing contact/not keeping contact with map. Going to really focus on stopping this tomorrow. Also a few of my mistakes weren't really my fault today:P....

Running 20:00 [3] 3.2 km (6:15 / km)
shoes: swoops

W/u ~ down the the glebe via the trim track.

W/d ~ some pacing between the rugby posts to check my pacing and then back home with drills at the top of the hill.

Running intervals 12:30 [4] 2.0 km (6:15 / km)
shoes: swoops

Down at the glebe with Dad. Was going to do a different run but Dad was going to do this so thought I would join him.

Around the ruby pitch, fast on the long sides and slow down the short, keeping up with Dad. Much more tiring than I had thought. Did 4 then had a rest before doing another 4.

Strength and Conditioning 38:00 [3]
shoes: asics pink

Same format as last week x2 but with the weights back up to usual.

Strength and Conditioning intervals 12:00 [4] 4.0 km (3:00 / km)
shoes: asics pink

As I was only doing 2 circuits did a speed hill interval on high resistance on the bike, was actually quite good and definitely made me work.

Running 15:00 [3] 3.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: asics pink

Ran to the gym and back, very windy so not so fun running there but so easy running back:).

Note

Wasn't sure whether I should go to the Scottish Champs or not as I they are very far away and I have 3 out of my 5 higher exams in the week after.

It would be good to get out of the house but bad as I would not do as much revision.
After this weekend, confidence as pretty low and I have decided that I am going to concentrate on exams and miss the Scottish so I don't go do shocking and then mess up exams too.....
Then I can have no pressure for a while and get confidence back and show everyone how good I really am:)

Note
(rest day)

Been over both my courses with Dad today. Took some positives but realised how many times I didn't attack the control properly and didn't have a plan:( Really going to focus on that and need to have more confidence!!!!!!!!
