Paddle (Ocean) 1:00:00 [3] 8.0 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: Epic V10 Sport

Morning paddle with Hilarity, Glen and Wal. I was feeling a little secondhand from taste testing the Drambuie my brother gave me for X'mas the night before and was sweeping the back of the field as per normal.
Saw a flying fish for the first time ever, it jumped up spread it's wings and glided for at least 30 seconds before diving back under, looked just like a little biplane.
The swim and the tasty muffins at the end made up for the early morning.

Cycle (MTB (kindof..)) 1:20:00 [2]
(injured) shoes: Anthem

Rode the railway heritage trail with my sister while Jas punished her fiance at the Goatfarm. The knee held up pretty well considering we hit a few up's and down's at the start. Almost died in the heat waiting for the boys to finish up - luckily (?) I managed to find us some snakes in my pack which had melted into one solid lump to chew on otherwise we surely would have perished...

Walk 1:00:00 [1]
(injured)

Very slow hobble with Mum who has just started getting arthritis in her knee, Dad seemed to think it was a bit funny and that we would be stagging along leaning on each other like drunkards.
We walked on the flat bush track up near churchmans brook while Wal was riding, and Mum kept making comments about how small Wal's bum was as he rode past ????

Core Strength 30:00 [1]

Core strength with Wal in my parents lounge room while they laughed at us and took pictures of us in innocent but seemingly compromising positions with thier new camera.
2 x 12 reps of old workout 1 with 15sec holds, calf raises, squats & bench dips

Note
(rest day)

X'mas day rest. I was keen to do something in the morning so that I wouldnt feel so guilty about eating all day but since we already had to get up at 6am to drive to Perth in time for lunch it was never going to happen.
This way got to laugh at my sister and fiance for going for a walk so they would be hungry and get to eat more.
Got a lovely stocking of coal for x'mas from Wal, seriously....

Cycle 1:20:00 [2]
(injured) shoes: Anthem

Felt guilty for not getting up this morning and going for a ride, so I left work a bit early and rode out to Australind even though I knew I'd have to ride back into a killer headwind. Average speed out was 24.2km/h and 15.8km/h back in. Knee was niggling before I went and just got worse, by the end it wasnt very happy at all.
Lots of kite surfers and wind surfers to watch in the Estuary, plus a very funny guy trying to carry his wind surfer into the headwind not making a lot of progress.
Today was supposed to be a paddling day as well, but I got home and Wal convinced me to have a beer instead.

Note
(rest day)

Too lazy to swim this morning - Wal got home late from riding last night so I didnt get a whole lot of sleep.
Knee was niggly all day so I didnt want to walk or ride this afternoon then got grumpy at myself - I cant do this everytime it hurts cause I just wont do anything.

Walk 40:00 [1]
slept:8.5 (injured)

Walked down to the bridge over the cut and back. Knee was feeling good and I had lots of energy so I tried a 1 min jog just to see what would happen - no knee pain during or after, but all my running muscles are really out of shape and I realised just how much it is going to hurt when I start running properly again.

Paddle (Inlet) 1:30:00 [4] 12.5 km (7:12 / km)
shoes: Epic V10 Sport

I pulled up the back beach surf cam before leaving work and given the number of whitecaps decided paddle in the inlet rather than chance an aborted session like last week.

Also decided to wear tri-shorts as I have been getting a very defined tan line from my paddling shorts.

11min cruises down the inlet, 15min slogs back up into the wind. The abs were really working to keep me stable today as wind was bending around in the inlet and quite often coming in sideon gusts. I was going to finish with 10min to spare so finished the session by zig-zagging up the last half of the inlet - experimenting with leaning into the wind.
