Orienteering 45:00 [3] 5.6 km (8:02 / km)
Vic relays on Darebin Park. Found this a real chore. Hot and very humid and not very interesting. One leg was about 400m but involved about 1.5 km run across bridges and running on streets. Lost interest very quickly after that. 2 controls placed incorrectly, not by much but frustrating. Lots of experienced Orienteers cutting the course by crossing out of bounds areas as well. Overall a bit of a failure as a relay. Maybe a Vic sprint Relay would be a better idea.
Only 4 Eureka members turned up so the idea of a social and enjoyable club event was a failure for us. Everyone who did come were lovely and enjoyed their company and conversation.
As for orienteering enjoyment, well not high on my scale. Too old and slow to be running on tracks and open grassland to find it much fun.
