Orienteering race 26:00 [3] 3.0 km (8:40 / km)

Sprint final for the QLD sprint champs. Managed to come from the clouds and pinch 1st place on cumulative time from yesterday. One person dnf, Nick did not run and the rest had blowouts.
This course took forever. Had to stand still lots and scratch my head and then walk forward hoping it would start to make sense. I did have some luck. A couple of times I cam to steps that went up and down. If I had chosen differently I would have ended up in a dead end. Many did. As for the 2 controls hidden under buildings in the dark. How bizarre.

Orienteering race 28:00 [4] 4.0 km (7:00 / km)

NOL relay event in Brisbane, public race. I have to face facts that I am not calm enough to do sprint events well. Spend a lot of time hesitating and take forever to make a decision. Went well in some spots and badly in others. Had trouble reading the map at times. I think that was because my glasses kept getting covered in sweat and I could not see the detail. At one stage I was heading for a T intersection but the path actually went underneath. Ended up in the OOB area with no idea where I was or how I had done it.
3 PM

Orienteering 23:00 [3] 2.7 km (8:31 / km)

Second sprint for the day at Griffith University. Lurched from one puzzle t another. Did not make any real errors other than running down the wrong corridor going to the first control. I was just very slow and and found it very confusing trying to orient the map and work out which line I was on. I think I crossed through the same point 3 or 4 times.
There were a couple of place where if you chose to go up the stairs instead of down you ended up on an unmapped level and totally lost.

Hung tags for Judy in the forest for 3kmm and then ran an extra 4 km on tracks until she finished. March flies are still ferocious.

Running 55:00 [3] 7.0 km (7:51 / km)

With Judy. Put out 3 tapes for her to add to the ones not collected last time. Then I jogged around the forest on tracks with 2 dogs. VERY SLOWLY. The dogs were sick of waiting for me at corners.
