Orienteering race 1:01:00 [3] 9.0 km (6:47 / km)

ACT Long Champs. Ran this course well. One wobble when too high on 3 and hit 4. Lost about 2 mins. The variation of very long legs and short ones was a breath of fresh air for courses I have done lately. Well done by Geoff.
Was very slow running up hills. Did not walk but might as well have.

Interesting to note that the fist very long leg looked like a lot of climb but the control was actually on a lower contour then the start. Almost the same leg as on the elite course. See Bruce's trog. I went right and high. I think straightish but a bit left was best.

Kido had her revenge today. Beat me by 8 minutes and I thought I did OK.
I also have to live with the shame of being done by a StK supporter

Orienteering race 17:00 [3] 4.0 km (4:15 / km)
ahr:159

ACT Sprint.

1:3000 map and things came up very fast. Was probably a bit careful but made no errors. Beat Kido by 1 second.

Orienteering race 31:00 [3] 5.0 km (6:12 / km)
ahr:158

ACT Middle Champs. Started well but then started to make mistakes. Not big ones but enough. On 6 ran to a small gully, hit a log pile and thought I had gone too far and turned back. Log pile not mapped so lost a lot of time.
Map was ordinary as was the course. Especially the last 4 controls. Very little navigation needed.

Running 1:03:00 [3] 11.0 km (5:44 / km)
ahr:141

Ran from Enfield onto the Little Hard Hills map. Following a walking path that goes through to the Misery Track. Thought this would be a run that was not too hard. The reason I chose it. Was I wrong. Felt awful for the whole run. Average HR for the last 20 min was 149.

The hills were tough and I was tired. Hope things improve for Canberra.

Orienteering 59:00 [3] 11.0 km (5:22 / km)
ahr:139

Hilly run around Little Bendigo with a map. Mostly tracks though.

Seemed hard, particularly on the hills but my ave HR is low so I am starting to cope better with these runs. Might have to start training harder. Can't see that happening.

Running 1:08:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:40 / km)
ahr:138

Did the long loop at Springdallah. Felt good today as indicted by my low ave. Heart Rate. Surprising given the intensity of the hour and a half on Sun.

This run has a hill that goes from the old railway line (now the Ballarat Linton Rail Trail) up to the top of the map. It is about a 3km hill.
