Mountain Bike 1:20:00 [3]

Went to Cats Pies Game at the MCG. Hope the cats can play that well in the Grand Final. If they do they are unbeatable.

Orienteering 30:00 [3] 4.0 km (7:30 / km)

Checking controls for Eureka event on Canadian South. Teated out my calf and was thrilled that it had come good until 22 minutes in and then outch, better walk back to the car. Hope it comes good by next Sat.

Wednesday Sep 16, 2009 #

Note

Calf started to hurt in last 50m of yesterdays run. Not great today so better give it a rest

Orienteering 1:01:00 [3] 11.5 km (5:18 / km)
ahr:146

Exploring again. At the end of State Forest rd. A path called the great water race walk. Led into a huge swamp.

Sunday Sep 13, 2009 #

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3] 6.0 km (10:00 / km)

Organising Junior camp. Spent most of the day putting out and brining in controls.

Saturday Sep 12, 2009 #

Orienteering 1:08:00 [5] ***** 8.0 km (8:30 / km)
ahr:152

Bendigo event at Mt Alexander. Tough physical event. No errors, just slow and almost walked the last 5 controls from bottom of the hill to the finish. One long leg offered some route choice. Be interesting to see some of the splits.
Really pissed that Collingwood won the game. Now it means Kido and I cant go to the game as it is Sat night instead of arvo. Why is that, what difference to the time of day should the teams invovled make. Sucks!!

Running 52:00 [2] 6.5 km (8:00 / km)

Thursday Sep 10, 2009 #

Orienteering 53:00 [4] 8.0 km (6:38 / km)
ahr:141

Running on unmapped tracks near state forrest rd. Lots of hills and lots of damage caused by motor bikes. Particularly on the very steep spurs and gullys.

Wednesday Sep 9, 2009 #

Running 51:00 [3] 8.0 km (6:23 / km)
ahr:133

Easy run around Corio dam with Syl. Felt OK today as I went very slow. Make running almost fun

Tuesday Sep 8, 2009 #

Orienteering 1:01:00 [4] 12.0 km (5:05 / km)
ahr:143

Hill intervals at Sprindallah with Kido. She worked hard, I worked softly

Running 38:00 [3] 6.0 km (6:20 / km)

Really easy 6k run on the Monkey Gully area. Felt a lot better after it than before. Very tired from last week.

Sunday Sep 6, 2009 #

Orienteering 1:45:00 [4] 12.0 km (8:45 / km)

Kido set a long course on the Creswick diggings map. Was both physically hard and very technical for most of it.

Really struggled both mentally and physically, especially after Kido passed me.

Running 1:02:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:10 / km)
ahr:144

Spent the whole day from 9:00 am to 4:00pm at MSAC Coaching swimmers at the Vic age Short Course Champs.

Walked to the car park and then ran 2 and a bit laps of Albert Park Lake whilst listening to the last 1/2 of Cats and Bulldogs. Thought the game was over at 3/4 time. How wrong I was. Made the run stressful

Friday Sep 4, 2009 #

Orienteering 48:00 [2] 7.0 km (6:51 / km)

Very easy run around Monkey Gully with Syl. The person who got lost last time.

Had to prove I could look after a partner in the forest. Didn't let her out of my sight

Wednesday Sep 2, 2009 #

Running 1:45:00 [4] 18.0 km (5:50 / km)

Went to do hills at Springdallah. A friend came along to run a shorter course while I did the longer section. The friend proceded to get lost and did not return to the car ever.

Did extra running to find her. Went back to car and drove around the map. Car now filthy and scratched. Eventually had a phone call from her husband that she had phoned and was somewhere on the Ballarat Linton rail trail km off the map. He picked her up and I went home. Only was out there for an extra 2 hrs

Orienteering 45:00 [3] ** 7.2 km (6:15 / km)

Back out to Enfield forest for another run around unexplored tracks with the GPS.

Found a very steep section that has been totally destroyed by motor bike riders. Most of these new tracks are a result of motor bikes.
Got very dark and had to cut it short.
