Orienteering 1:08:00 [3] ** 12.0 km (5:40 / km)
ahr:140

Run around a Linton map navigating as I ran. Mostly on tracks with easy navigation.

I find that using a Garmin is detrimental to my training and wellbeing. It is not encouraging knowing that I am lucky to be running under 6 min a km and at times lucky to be going under 8 min a km up hills. It all only seems to add to the depression known as aging.

Running 1:00:00 [3] 10.0 km (6:00 / km)

Ran some different tracks around an old map near linton. Lots of hills.

Orienteering 1:15:00 [3] 10.0 km (7:30 / km)
ahr:140

On Springdallah with Aislinn. Tried to set some legs that involved navigating up and down steep hills.

What looked very steep on the south side of the map turned out to be OK. It was steep but was a nice area and good running. Well Kido ran up all the hills and I worked to catch up on the downs.

Note

Went to Geelong with Kido to watch the Cats give the Lions a belting. Was in keeping with the belting rain we experienced on a few occasions. Cant see the Hawks playing that well in the near future. Ablett is a freak.

Orienteering race 1:09:00 [4] **** 12.0 km (5:45 / km)
rhr:154

Went to Bendigo and ran at Mosquito Creek. Did 48 min on the course and a 21 min warm down.
Good area for tricky orienteering in subtle spur gully and fast running.

One long leg that in my mind had only one route. To run 90% of it on a track. Much discussion at the end. Interesting that all the so called experts considered straight was the only correct choice. Funny how they all ran slowly or made big mistakes.

Running 1:00:00 [3] 11.5 km (5:13 / km)
ahr:147

Very hilly hour run from Black Hill oval up to Nuggety Dam and back. Dog loved it, I hated it

Running 1:00:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:00 / km)
ahr:145

Run around tracks near Linton. Felt OK and had to run extra to fill in the hour.

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:00 / km)
ahr:145

Nice easy jog on all the little paths around the Petticoat Gully Map. I enjoyed it and so did the dog. Seems the motivation to get back into it is returning. Who knows. Next big challenge is the Ausy Champs.

Note

Done nothing since Easter. Lazy and seemingly pointless after the effort put into Easter for no result.

Went to see the Hawks play hoping that at least something positive would happen. Not to be. Was a disappointing and frustrating experience. Just like Easter

Note

Really grumpy today. Ankle to sore to run, great courses set by Ted and Bruce and couldn't do either, Hawthorn got rolled again. New brigade just not up to it. Will struggle to be fit for easter.

Grumpy. Grumpy Grumpier.

Orienteering 40:00 [3]

Run on Westerfolds Park Map after the SI Training day. Great effort by Debbie to do this.

Was running well and the ankle was not painful. Kept making mistakes though. Not concentrating, stood on a stick and turned my ankle again. Shit it hurt.
Hobbled back to car and went home grumpy

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3] 10.0 km (6:00 / km)
ahr:142

Upgrading Canadian North so put on the GPS and ran around every track I could fit in in an hour. So many tracks I covered 10km and never got more than 15 minutes from the car.

Running 58:17 [3] 12.0 km (4:51 / km)
ahr:148

Back running after the weekend. Ankle hurt but was bearable.

Ave. heart rate is high. Must be because of lack of consistent training.
