Rode around a map and ventured in and out of the forest on foot to check control sites. Uncertain of distance as I forgot to charge the Garmin.

Rode out to the Uni to check some mapping. Best fun in ages riding comming back. Down hill, tail wind for 10km from uni to Ballarat.
70cm of rain measured in my back yard yesterday. Thought the house would wash away.

Went out to the forest with Judy. She went looking for some tags that she missed last time out. I rode around the Boden water catchment area. It was mostly flat so I enjoyed it. Spoilt a bit by the fact I had left my bike shoes behind. Did it in my old burkenstocs. Made my feet hurt a bit.

Only one lap of the lake tonight. Did the rest other places. Hilly places. Felt a bit flat tonight and struggled the last 20 min.

Put out tags for Judy. Ran about 1/2 of the time. Leg was good. When it started to feel a bit tight I walked. Probably too cautious but at least I am still moving.

Road bike ride around the Rat again. Finished off with 2 laps of the lake. Great conditions for a change but it still seems as though there is always a head wind when riding around the lake.

Rode around the tracks at Sprindallah while Judy did a course I had set for her. Some of the hills on this map are brutal.

Put tags out for Judy at Springdallah. Walked around to do it. Orienteering is nowhere near as interesting when walking.

Tagging for Judy in the forest. Went slowly and walked up hills if I thought my calf would be affected. Got through OK.

Leg still sore so had better stay fit somehow. Ride around the streets of the Rat and 2 laps of the lake. Had a bloke sit on my wheel for a whole lap but he did not offer to make my life easier at any stage.

Even jogging across the street I can feel my calf is not better so back out on the bike. Some hills around the city and then 2 laps of the lake. Really struggled to maintain a rhythm and a good cadence. Still tired from Sun I think.

Mountain Bike 1:55:00 [3]

Set courses on Blow mine area for Aislinn and Judy and some other members of the family. Left Aislinn to do the taping while Conan and I rode around on MTB. No idea how far as we had no GPS or speedo. Rode down to the river and along the path that goes to the blow hole. This was a lot tougher than I thought as the path made for some very technical riding. Fell of twice and have some good scrapes.
The ride back up to the car was brutal.

Rode with the Sat group at Sheppards Flat again. Missed all the rain so cant complain but I did find it hard today. Getting better on the hills.

Orienteering 55:00 [3] 7.0 km (7:51 / km)

Out in the forest with Judy and the dog again. I put out tapes for Judy. Walking and jogging a bit. The calf was ok but a bit stiff and tender now. Better rest tomorrow.

My usual ride around the streets ending with 2 laps of the lake. Threatened to rain the whole ride but only misted a bit once. Got home dry.

Could run further than this in the time. Spent most of the ride looking for non existent tracks in the green on Chainamans Flat. Did get a bit of a flow at the end. Great area for bike riding.

Around the streets of the Rat. Must be getting better on the bike as I went in search of some hills. Two laps of the lake to finish.

With Judy in the forest. Put out tags for her and then did a bit of mapping. Hurt my calf again when I was only walking. Bugger!!!

Out to Sheppards flat with the Sat. Group. Very hilly but really enjoyed this today. All the rest must be good for me.

Orienteering 1:05:00 [3] 7.0 km (9:17 / km)

Orienteering with Judy. Jog /walked but the calf was ok.

Rode my usual ride around the Rat. No problems with the calf so bike riding is obviously the go for a couple of weeks.

Wednesday Feb 1, 2012 #

Went out with Judy. Lasted a couple of km before my calf started to get sore. Walked up hills and then jogged/shuffled down for the rest. Put out tags for Judy.
