Long run with Kido in the forest at Linton. Put out tapes for a long difficult forest loop and then a short 3k loop in some complex mining. Made up the time by then collecting tapes.
Spent the rest of the day at the cricket to watch Vics get smashed by Tassi.

Rode out to Haddon, across to Windemere and then back along the Avenue. Wind was fierce and now I am exhausted.

Hanging tapes for Judy in Linton and then picking them up again. Put water out for the dog at the end. Would have been 100 March flies around the water. I was bitten 3 times even with Off on. I think the 100 must have buzzed around my head the whole run.

Orienteering 1:45:00 [4] ****

With the National Elite squad in Canberra. Did the 5 x 1.5k training set by Shep. One look at me and they put me with the Girls. Still could not keep up. As a result I was always the first of in the chasing starts and handicap.
Hung out controls in the arvo for the squad. Lucky I was not doing the training. Could not even find the site to hang one of the controls. This map was crap for the NOL in Canberra last year and it has not improved.

Great weekend of training. Very grateful for all the work done by Rob, Shep and others like Jo and Shannon for putting out and collecting controls

Thanks Grant for the fun courses on Sat.

Spent the day from 11:00 to 4:30 tagging and remapping vegetation for the NOL. Tried to run when I could so I am claiming about an hour training.

Quite apprehensive about doing this Tri at Portarlington. Health took a big tumble during the week and I was not very well for most of it. Felt better on Sat and as I had spent nearly $100 on entry I was always going to do it. 800m swim, 29k ride and 8 k run. Did surprisingly well and got through it OK. Very tired now. Not riding anywhere near enough. One burst a week means an average of about 30 on the bike. Lots go past me like I am standing still. Memories of doing that to others seem a long way in the past. The older I get the better I was.. Kido thrashed me again. What a surprise.

Hill session with Kido at Springdallah. Six big hills that nearly killed me. Left well behind by Kido and the dog. Was quite warm but glad we ran early as it is only going to get hotter.

Solid swim at Eureka pool. Just starting to rain but obviously did not notice this whilst swimming

Training and club BBQ at AGM Dam. Putting out and collecting the controls.

Hanging tags in the forest around the Corio Dam area for a long training run. Kido Mary and maybe Max are coming up. Doing a long run on a completely new area. Map is OK but no vegetation mapped and some of the gullies are questionable. Having hung tapes it seems the map is much better than I thought. Some light green areas but mostly very runnable.
After the long run we are off to another new small map to do a quick course using sport ident. Then a BBQ with Eureka.

Steady 1500m swim at Eureka. Has cooled down a lot here but it was pleasant in.

Enjoyable run with Adam in the Surface Hill area near Smythsdale. Dog loved it.
Just made it back in time because now it is absolutely pissing rain.

Run on forest tracks around Corio Dam area. 26 when I started but reached about 30 by the end. Was still a nice run but both the dog an I began to struggle towards the end.

Rode to swimming and back. On a new bike and I think the seat is a bit low. Really struggled up tip hill. This was an awful ride all round.
