DH race 3:00:00 [4]
slept:7.5 shoes: Solid Mission 9

Practice 8:30-11. Seeding 11-2. Race 2 til 6.

Cut down spikes fitted for wet days racing after over night rain; they feel pretty good.

Seeding run was going good until after rock drop in the next wood section, noticed I had a rear flat just sat up and rolled trying not to knacker rim. Stopped on wide open corner to let chase guy pass then rolled down.

Race run went equally as well, spat myself into a tree ruddy fast, tucked head in and took it straight on the top of my helmet. Not really sure which root did it, got up fast as I could, pinned the next section then realised I'd half ripped my left hand pedal out of my crank in the crash (perhaps I caught it on a stump?). Rolled next section, stopped to let 30sec chase guy past, then rolled down.

Pretty pissed off with weekends performance really! Now have a rather stiff neck and a bit of back pain, probably hit tree about 25mph, so no real surprise there.

Back on the sprints asap, as off to Belgium Thursday for world cup 4x.

DH race 5:00:00 [5]
slept:6.5 shoes: Solid Mission 9

Round 1 NPS DH, Ae Forest, Scotland

Practice 8:30-5pm

Went pretty good, hit most of my lines from the start and relatively consistent. Had a play on the rock drop trying to find a faster/smoother line, fist go hit the line but way too fast and shot off sideways into the tree's; managed to get front wheel opposite side so I got spat round the tree and dumped in a wet grassy hole-shit myself a bit as only wearing knee pads! Hit it again but a bit slower so a bit rough hard to judge with blind run in. Did seven runs in total, this years format is much better.

Dry all day, thunderstorms in the evening. Awesome pits with easy-up, tent, van and picnic bench we commandeered, made the whole weekend a lot more fun, especially with Rob and Tom being there too.

Had to get Tim Flooks to fix my air Boxxers yet again- upgraded the air swapping o-ring so might keep working for more than a month now..

XC Mtb 2:00:00 [3]
shoes: Dialled Holeshot

Couple of hours at the STC (Sheffield Trail Centre..)

Found a new route staying high up to the end of Rivelin valley, fun technical bits etc, just a gentle pootle with Lee. Saw the Hallam road lot heading out along Manchester Road so caught them up and had a wee chat. They love the skinny wheels.

So very very tired after being up since Monday morning doing uni work, only to get an email at 9:30am this morning saying the original deadline of 10am today deadline has been shifted until Thurday at 4pm, and I've not even been allocated a time slot to present my work at the crits anyway. Awesome!

Note

No training today, in the office for 9am to start my uni project, which I was given in January...oops.

Its due in for 10am tomorrow morning, looks like an all night session on my own in the office tonight.

Still, got some good tunes on the go, free tea and coffee and a whole tuck shop, fruit and cereal to keep me going.

Maybe I should of started it earlier...still, done the whole project in my head already really, so now just have to sort out presentation, create plans sections, elevations environmental strategies etc.

Fun fun fun..
