Ocean Paddle 2:07:35 [3] 17.94 km (7:07 / km)
ahr:134 max:159 shoes: Epic V10

A morning paddle with Tooms and Boltboi. Boltboi was very rude in the first section and wouldn't look around and admire the sunrise with me.

Cruised down the coast into some fairly bumpy waves, lookin gforward to teh trip back but it died off while we were out there so the trip back wasn't so good. I gave Tooms some instruction in re-entering the boat at the turn around, the leg leash slows me down though.

Paddled back to floreat and dropped off Boltboi, Tooms took off into the wind again whilst I was checking the water temperature. It was good to chase him down and put some distance on him, I am stronger upwind but he positions himself better downwind.

PAddled back to floreat and let the boys go then went for a solo paddle, got down to Swanbourne again and then noticed the red flags and heard some shots so I sensibly spun around and went back. nice morning in some changeable but fairly comfortable ocean conditions.

Run warm up/down 18:27 [3] 3.5 km (5:16 / km)
ahr:150 max:169 shoes: Brooks Trance

went for a longish warm up since it worked for me last week.

Orienteering race (Nav Dash) 20:12 [5] 3.8 km (5:19 / km)
ahr:163 max:176 shoes: Brooks Trance

My first Nav Dash. I got heckled for attending the novice briefing but it was a good thing as I would have gone through all the out of bounds otherwise.

I was pretty happy with the run other than the first control where I stood next to it for a minute without noticing it. had some other small errors but most of my wasted time was due to over reading the map, I should have trusted myself more. Was happy with my leg speed whilst I was moving, I hoped I looked fast as the paparazzi was following me around.

Update, 8th male. happy with that. lots of people only a few seconds behind me though.

Stretching 15:00 [1]

after dinner, not motivated to do core.

MTB Ride hills 1:31:29 [3] 23.6 km (15.5 kph)
ahr:130 shoes: Anthem MTB

Possibly my last Munda Bidi ride with the demise of daylight saving.

Lots and lots of spiderwebs. Lots. really. handlebars and brake cables almost got mummified.

Quite hard to keep the pace up today due to the condition of the trail, I only stopped and cleared a web if I could see the spider sitting in the middle of it but that combined wit lots of branches and even one tree fallen across the trail made for lots of stops and some cautious riding, especially on the way out. way back I went a bit faster. slowed down in a couple of sections when I had a visit from some emu's one of them just paced through the bush which was cool and the now usual kamakazi roos right near the end. Each week I seem to get closer to hitting one.

Run 1:02:02 [3] 10.21 km (6:05 / km)
ahr:140 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR

Missed paddling so went for a run. Didn't really tick off any training boxes but it was a very pleasant run down the coast on the path then back on the beach. Managed 47 mins run block in the middle without major knee problems. Liked the new shoes

Stomach had a bit to say in the last couple of km's but that could have been the beers after work.

This build week has started pretty badly, unfortunately looking at the calender it is hard to see it getting much better.

Road Ride intervals 2:07:46 [4] 67.64 km (31.8 kph)
ahr:138 shoes: Dodgy Roadie

Took the mountain bike for a long drive, then went for a roadie ride. 4 x 10km intervals at 82%. which was as hard as I could push.

fairly boring ride, actually overtook another cyclist on this bit of road for the first time this year.

Stretching 15:00 [1]

Flat Paddle intervals 1:16:23 [4] 11.41 km (6:42 / km)
shoes: Endorfinn

Intervals session, launched in the inlet then discovered that the gates were closed so I had to stay in the inlet. boring. but did 4 x 10 min intervals at 85%, paused in the middle of the third when I hit something solid underwater and struggeld alot with the last one. probably more mentally than physically.

Core Strength 45:00 [1]

My first sleep in for months so of course I was wide awake at 6:30. Which is still a sleep in for me.

Today is our first anniversery! so instead of making Rach breakfast in bed like I have every day for the last month I made her get up to eat the french toast with bacon, caramelised bananas and maple syrup. Yummmm.

Guilt kicked in not long after eating that so I did my core strength. 2 x 15 reps and 3 x 15s holds of workout 2.

Swim 10:00 [3] 0.2 km (50:00 / km)

They wouldn't let me play on the bouncy castle thingy :(

Run warm up/down 29:19 [3] 4.55 km (6:27 / km)
ahr:120 max:149 shoes: Brooks Trance

very long warmup. I was trying to gat a feel for how my knee was going so I kept the pace slow and concentrated on form. Knee was just a bit niggly the entire time. stupid knee.

Orienteering 56:40 [5] *** 6.05 km (9:22 / km)
ahr:143 max:200 spiked:10/16c shoes: Brooks Trance

At maidens, My first bush O event since the Killamunda.

Chose to do the long course, scatter event, collect 15 of 17. Route choice was very poor but that was a bit of a fault of my nav. ANd a HR of 200? very strange for me, I think my band slipped down a bit and gave some dodgy readings at the end.

Hit the first four spot on and was most impressed with the third as I contoured around a hill top to pick it up in a saddle. Overan the 5th on a track bend because it was hidden on the ground under a log. This should have been a warning for some of the later ones. Overran the 6th as well, was in the right spot the first time and just couldn't find the control, went further up the valley looking for it and on the way back saw it stuffed in a bush. Followed someone into the 7th and ran through 8 and 9 then it all went pear shaped on 10. I was hunting around a depression for a control that I was sure was on the ground. couldn't find it at all. It wasn't until I saw someone run in and punch a control I relised I was still one vally south of where i wanted to be. whoops. I got confused by the fold in the map. So I picked that one up even though I never intended too and contined on to the right valley. Found the control after a bit of hunting under bushes.

Picked the rest up with only a bit of trouble but forgot to drop one to allow for the extra that I picked up. oh well, I wasn't going to win anyway. Knee didn't complain at all, runnign up adn down hills, through the scrub, jumping logs. no problems..... stupid knee.

Had to leave early to take my beloved out for dinner so I missed Aunty Jills 60th birthday celebrations.

Results, Third, beaten by Allan and Simon.
