Last day in France. Our "walk" to the start involved a chairlift ride followed by a 1.7k downhill run to the start. Unfortunately, the chairlift was very slow and made everyone late to the start. The organizers solved the problem by not counting the first leg thus making a short "long" course even shorter. It was supposed to be a chase start but for all categories except the elite, the chase was only for those within 15 min. from the leader, everyone else started in 30 sec. intervals...on my course the 2nd place person was 20 minutes out so there really was no chase. My adjusted time was 35:02, 5:07 off the winner. Final place for all 5 days was 4th, 20 min off the winner (who was a Swiss woman who was certainly more used to the mountain terrain).
Despite the chairlift snafoo, it was a fun week of O with challenging courses and spectacular terrain.
