Beautiful area, really just wanted to not make any silly mistakes like the previous couple of days. Went pretty slowly from the start triangle trying to work out which way to go to #1, decided on the track which I think was the best option. Enjoyed climbing up the ladder out of the control! Marina had caught me 2 minutes at #2 which surprised me as I'm not sure how I lost that much time. We left #4 together, she went down to the track and I went around the spur but we got there together so I guess they were pretty even. Saw a few girls on the butterfly loops, and then was running alone to #14. Enjoyed the last loop despite Marina catching me again right at the end!

Physically I felt pretty good, I guess the recent long training runs are to thank for that. Finished 9th for the day which may well be my best ever performance in Elites!

Day 3 2 Hard (1) - Splits

A bit of a doozy on this one. Kept veering off my bearings.

Day 2 Course 2 - Splits

A few silly mistakes, #1, #5 and #8 but otherwise ok, just not very fast. Finished 20th. I managed to convince Ian to enter on the day, making this his first ever solo bush event. I was a bit nervous he wouldn't enjoy it but he came back happier than ever and keen to enter again for Day 2, so that was definitely the highlight of the day.

Felt pretty sluggish for this run and didnt really get going, got a bit confused after the spectator controls too and ran from #13 to #15. Finished 18th overall.
