walked to the start of todays event on arthurs seat but there was no shelter as the wind was awful and the rain teeming down. Achilles meant I would only be able a very slow jog at best so there was no likelihood of staying warm up there so I ducked out.

Edinburgh street race - torrential cold rain!
Couldn't read the map through misted rain smeared glasses. Achilles held up okish from last night so I could at least run flatfooted.
blew the spectator control in the assempley area which wasn't marked as OOB bit the tiny entrance to it was - impossible to spot that given the conditions :-(

after having sat at the puter all day drying to get a decent printable map for my Brum urban I finally got something and headed out in the dark to plan the controls on the short course - very dark mwaahaahaahaaaaa!

Brandon wood - Green
not bad but lost 7mins at ctrl 11 (111) which was 40-50m from its very obvious mapped feature (bramble veg bdy corner) instead placed in white wood not apparently on any feature. Those who approached from the south by going around the paths would have seen it on the way to the mapped location, those who went direct didn't stand a chance.
