3 x 1mile circuit on SV at a good pace - felt good at 2miles form failed 1/2 way around last circuit

warm down jog/walk

r.calf slight niggle, l.achilles a bit stiff afterwards

easy run/jog/walk 3 laps of near valley - no deer - felt rubbish - left knee twinging and l.achilles niggling on the walk back up the road.

Gentle run (only a little walking) on sandwell valley 2 laps of the near valley - achilles behaving itself, will go further tomorrow

Amazingly came face to face with a muntjac deer... this is just 3 miles from B/ham city centre in the centre of a huge conurbation! 2 years ago we had a red deer

not doing the phoenix as am still recovering achilles - liz n maz doing the C course - I'm going out on my bike
From my stable of bikes I chose the most stupid option. The road from the barrowburn campsite down to the village has two 1in7's and then all the roads beyond are rather lumpy too. I havnt been far on fixed lately and certainy not anywhere so relentlessly up and down. Consequently my thighs are shredded and very painful 2 days later.

walk 50-80m - easy run for 200-300m .... repeat for 40minutes

achilles felt fine

bugger! got up at 04.30 to catch a 06.30 balloon flight - feet not awake - when I got out of the car to buy brekkie at 05.30 my achilles locked painfully - why? I havent done anything?

well achills has felt good since mid morning so I went out for a gentle run - a bit further than before with more time running than walking

still no ill effects from runs so.. decided to do consecutive days

walk 40 double paces - easy run 60 double paces, moving up to 70 after a few reps. repeat for 1/2 an hour

otherwise i'm STILL painting the halls stairs and landings

Decided that the residual achilles pain must be referred from calf so did some judicious massage on refferral points and went for a 'run'

100m walk 100m jog/slow run ... repeated ad nauseam

moving a ton or so of logs 40m up from the bottom of the garden and then sawing a load of them to fit into my log store for the woodburner.

I DONT BELIEVE IT!

my achilles didnt give even the slightest twinge after the first day's walking - it felt progressively stronger even as i pushed it on some hills - it felt like i could easily have run.

1 day after getting back and having total rest bar pottering around the house my achilles is back to its constant nagging!!!!!! WHY ???

excellent days walk - getting a bit tired as right foot is getting progressively uncomfortable with blister due to Inov shoe shearing a nob (turned out to be a verruca)

had to get to Erme mouth by lunch to wade across at low tide then a sprint to Aunemouth to get the last ferry - final horrible hill to campsite inland

at last it has stopped raining!
got out for 2 laps of the wider valley - had one off when i got the front wheel stuck in a muddy trench but managed to scrub most of the speed before the inevitable - still hurt though
