Run race 50:00 [3]
shoes: Roclite315-3 red

CSC final Teviothead
Horizontal rain and chilly. Got to ctrl 5 after nearly 30 mins and realised I could not finish without a risk to my health (even with cag and waterproof trousers and a buff)
exited to a track and baxck aling the road. Back in club tent couldnt use my hands so maz bought me soup/bread/coffee for me to take back to the car but by the time I got there I was in the early stages of hypothermia. I couldnt use my hands, I lost the car keys in my bag, I couldnt decide what to do, I was becoming frustrated and agressive and I wasnt feeling the cold even though I was soaking wet and my thighs were cramping.
Good choice to abandon!

Carlisle Urban C
9th Sv category. Pretty pleased given the little amount of running I've done but annoyed I threw away time early on through mistakes.

Run warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Swynnerton old park - green
oh dear! lost 4 mins on the first easy control which cost me 1st place - dithered at the start kite as the area was full of paths and fences then measured distance to track jn where I would start looking at the terrain, however there were unmapped paths and I became confused and converted my pacing from the track jn to the veg bdy near my control so I started looking too early. Then my final route in was affected by the undergrowth i had seen at the place i pulled up early and assumed it would be the same at my control, but in reality there was a elephant track which I avoided. No 2 rootstock in clearing on steep slope with lots of bracken, I found an unmapped earlier one with an elephant track going to it but decided to traverse to where I thought the real one would be , which involved a bit of involuntary lying down, another 2 mins lost!. Things improved after that but there were plenty more little errors. Major bad route choice to final control - decided to go thru instead of round on tracks, even though it was close to the runin track - lost another 4 mins at least!

Gym 45:00 [3]
weight:72.4kg

after a full week back at work I forced myself to the gym
felt pretty unused to the exercise so did:
3x 500m hard row
treadmill with 3 1min hills at a decent rate
weights (legs and shoulders)

Sunday Sep 2, 2012 #

Run long 2:11:00 [3]
shoes: Roclite315-3 red

Long Myndd Long O - Medium

took it really steady as my body doesnt like this sort of thing - contoured around where I could (3.5km leg 2-3 instead of 1km and 600' descent and then 600' ascent!). Blew ctrl 6 (pond) for a good 5mins.
