Orienteering race 3:10:00 [4] 29.0 km (6:33 / km)

Ultra NM. A good start to the training month? Went out at a pace that felt quite hard. Struggled a bit all the way with technique, but started catching people at 6 - then going better than them and escaping until a careless miss and bad relocation at 11. Got back into it but could feel the tiredness coming on round the next bit. Finally a monster train caught and passed me just before the last climb and I could feel the legs were going. Managed to keep up a slow run til a short last loop which I managed a slow jog round - ran the last legs well and they were still registered as mistakes. Came 13th in a rather weak field after too many errors and quite a time loss on the last controls. I am not trained for racing for 3hrs - was doing ok for the first 90 so some hope.

Running intervals 30:00 [4]

Standard summer intervals - got a slightly higher pulse than usual which equated to some quicker times - not for the first one due to a strong head wind but broke 8' for the last one (by far the longest)
