Steady run in snow. Really tough in knee deep snow - nobody had been out. Got a new worst ever up local hill, about twice as slow as normal and up towards I3 effort...
Sævig intervals in terrain - lightly dusted with snow. Hit zone 3 up the hills - not much chance of the 4 today. Some hard controls and missed one for the second time this week (had the same control on Tuesday).... Never learn??
8*5' - went to BSK training but no-one turned up (?lots from Nydalens?) and conditions looked bad - guessed it was also moved so went to Frogner park and ran the monolith loop along with lots of other runners.
Good loop and conditions.
Steady o on fjell. Not the best choice of area since snowier higher up. Wet socks saved my feet from getting too cold. Managing about 125 pulse averages
Running long 1:35:00 [2] 21.0 km (4:31 / km) ahr:127
Wondering where to run - paths icy and heading south the pavements got bad as well so headed into town. The forest was probably best, but am trying to get more speed.
One of those grim days with sleet and a bit of ice around. Decided to go low to Frognerparken which worked ok, kept a good pace around 4:20ks round it.
Old course on delete mountain. A bit of snow, but the area is getting whiter and is good. Run in and out on tracks. A bit higher pulse but still not in the zone...
Last push on VO2 test. Was ready for another 30secs when the tester pulled me off, I guess he was not expecting numbers over 80...
For the geeks interested in protocol, the Vo2 was tested on an 11% slope and with pace going from 11 k/h upwards 1k/h/m. The threshold on a 5.3% slope and speeds going up 1k/h every fifth minute. This is the Olympic Center in Oslo who test a lot of xcountry skiers and a few runners - using more hill for the skiers.
It worked well for me - a subsequent test will be better when we know what to expect in terms of speed.
