Night training. Thought I should get used to the terrain and build confidence a bit after the last night races being poor. Started ok but missed one and only found it when leaving for next and had to give up on another as well... not good for confidence and plenty to think of
Good set of reps on summer course - from ljan to grønliasen. 4'45, 5'01, 5'15, 4'30, 6'10 and 8'13 all approx. 1' rec. Not record pace but did 2 fewer reps and 1' more rest most of last year...
Took at pop at my time trail, one I have run since 2000. No racing so good to do a tempo session - then went and got the record that has stood since 2002. One goal for the year well accomplished. Now to work on terrain and navigation....
Craft cup night. First bigger race of the year and a record miss to number 1 for me. Few misses after that, concentration waned.
Not a good performance on a typical Sundby course - control picking and really poor longer legs between. A poor night season nearing its conclusion, I struggle when it is hard to run.
Terrain reps - first time with almost no snow. Quite different though times not that much better than in the snow. 12:47 and 11:30ish... Tired on second lap.
Night race, fredrikstad. Lots of open rock and quite vague controls. Not quite up to it with compass and a bad line at end. Pulse pretty low - probably not the terrain running either? Lots to work on.
Night race, Ljankollen. Pulled from my chance at Ås by night final and into a private selection race with a peculiar 1' start interval. This ended up affecting the race quite a lot - I ran over half the race close to my 1' man, pulling away up each climb and then he ran me in back down. Ran at a better speed but 1 stupid miss and a few poor controls.
