Blackford Hill being ideal. Started up the west path, across the field and into the Hermitage House. down to the bridge and the climbs started from there: Bridge once, Steps twice, North face once, Observatory once, south side once ,not entirely sure of the order.

group 2, but too many riders are not strong enough to keep the effort up for the full ride.
Got well away in a group of 4 up the Yak, but then stopped for a pee, assuming the others would hold up anyway. Then in with the main bunch down the hill was a bit easy. Dropped my chain on the 1st of the 3 wee climbs to Kingston, which gave me a good opportunity for some hard work catching back up, which I did by Kingston. Again, after this the bunch was weak. At Gullane everyone was stopped at the lights so hooped across to the 4 that had been up the road previously. Good effort level from there on in with 5 of us. Fun at the end messing with Jack.

This definitely felt like a requirement. Training would nothave been a good idea.
