Orienteering 1:18:27 [5] 11.5 km (6:49 / km) +250m 6:09 / km
Long - looking forward to this! Again plan was to keep it clean. Bit of a shaky start, dropped 40s on both 3 and 6, too far left on 3 and ran straight past 6! The rest of the course was good though, purposefully slowed down a lot at the far end in the green, ran up to find the path on 13 instead of going straight so I could find the depression then drop into the control, similarly to 14 I very much went from feature to feature, 15 a little hesitant but not really time loss there, I think if I hadn't been hesitant I would have got lost. The last few legs back I could feel I was getting really tired and so was taking track routes to be on the safe side.
Looking at splits, quite happy with how it went, again, as yesterday, I slow down by the end of a race so I think I need to try to keep pushing at the end and get more 'race-fit'.
Really enjoyed it though and am happy, no big time losses and was feeling confident. Need to be stronger for these races and be able to keep running hard at the end of the race. I do enjoy long races though.. :)
