Running 15:00 [1]

Orienteering 35:30 [4] 4.5 km (7:53 / km) +175m 6:36 / km

Oww this was so frantic!!! Just ran off to no.1 and was lucky really to see it.. then no3 was terrible, ended up right down the hill then up at no7 so 3mins gone there. 4 and 5 ok then 6, I was in the right place, couldn't see it, ran off to relocate, came back, still couldn't see it, tried again and it suddenly appeared! After that I was quite clean and running well but panicked cause I felt I'd lost a lot of time and lost the other teams.. Such a difference to yesterday where I was fine under pressure, need to have that mentality in relays too!

Really good weekend though, enjoyed it a lot :)

Running 20:00 [1]

Good warm up then 5mins before my start realised I'd left my number in the car so legged it back for it and back to the start with 30s to go! Stress!! Calmed down a lot in the boxes though.

Then a bit of a warm down up the road.

Orienteering 56:48 [4] 7.2 km (7:53 / km) +220m 6:51 / km

I was so up for this at the start, really excited and my legs felt good.. I wanted to feel confident under pressure, carry on the good bearings from portugal and know I was running hard the whole way.

Started off well, took it steady in the tricky bit but still lost a minute on no.5 by being too high. Stayed calm and was clean then through to 16. All the controls in the woods were bearings to something big nearby and all were pretty accurate, bit hesitant going to 14 but saw the open bit so it was ok.. Then 16 I couldn't see it! Wandering around the right area but just couldn't find it! Eventually got it, lost less time than I thought I had but was still a bit annoyed. Then the tricky bit through the boulders just tired to keep my head and not panic, more bearings and lots of matching up where all the boulders were! Then just a run to the finish, bit hesitant on 20, stopped a bit too soon but I think that was just being cautious.

On the whole, really happy. Few blips where concentration slipped a little but so much better than last week. Didn't feel panicked at all and stuck to the plan, felt good towards the end as well and not too tired. Could do with being a bit stronger terrain wise (but I think I could always think that!).
