orienteering (billygoat) 1:46:37 [4] 11.3 km (9:26 / km)

HVO Billygoat: Blue Mountain NY. Tired and slow and it rained so I followed Peter Gagarin and had a good run. Splits are posted. Course shorter than expected so my weekly milage is off. Probably not making 30 mi/wk anymore with all these weekend o events.

Was going to take a short run in evening but just to sleepy. Went to bed instead.

Cooldown 6:22 1420m with 4 x 200 strides. Tried to do 200s in 38 sec so I will be ready for any 38 sec legs in upcoming O meets.

DCRRC Wed track workout. Washington and Lee HS. 7pm, temp in high 80s. 2 x 2000m at 8k pace with 2 lap slow jog after each. 8k pace would have been 7:20 but I was still hurting from Flying Pig and faded on 2nd. 7:23.6 (4:45) 7:36.7 (4:56).

12:15pm, 90 degrees. Work to Lake Accotink and back.

orienteering (blue) 2:30:52 [4] 9.8 km (15:24 / km)

OCIN, Flying Pig. Farsta blue. Rain, mud, and hills. I had nothing left after friday and saturday. Faked it through the 6th control before falling apart. Trashed my studded O-shoes on sat so had only non studs for today. Slipping everywhere, fell more today than in previous 3 years of orienteering. Glasses got wet and muddy so had trouble reading map. Made some big mistakes also, worst one when I skipped a short leg (185 to 248) on 2nd loop. Realized my mistake but then could not find the bag anyway. 12:51 on a 1 minute leg.
