Really pleased with this.

Had said 4.15 was my time to aim for but really in my head I was thinking I could do under this. I had the 4hr and 4hr10 splits on my arm and was planning to settle into a comfortable pace and keep between these.
As I was slow with injury last year I was put way back in pen 7. I managed to start with pen 6 but still spent the whole race weaving and overtaking people. Kind of useful mentally but hard work with people suddenly stopping and changing my stride all the time. From half marathon point there were also people walking. I got a bit upset a few times.
First k was very slow as completely stopped for a whole minute but then the rest of the first 5k just seemed to go by in no time - I actually thought my watch was wrong. Saw Cat and Dan cheering my the National Maritime Museum which was really cool, and Greenwich was amazing.
Had a bit of a downer at about 8-10 miles where my chest felt tight and really wanted my ventolin (which I usefully had forgotten). Someone pointed out afterwards with the number of people around I could probably have asked around and found some quite quickly. Managed to get breathing under control and feel a bit better.
Had quite a high coming off from tower bridge and then spectating the fast men going the other way. Managed to see a couple of heathsiders, including George, and shouted for Sprotty and Harold too. Kept me occupied.
Saw mum and dad coming out the tunnel at 15 which was cool, was expecting slowies on the roundabout at 15, but the roundabout was gone. Saw Evan then Cat and Dan again at 16. Feeling pretty ok going round Canary Wharf station, but actually appreciated the quieter bit to 20 miles.
Faded a little (tho splits still pretty damn steady) and was happy to pass 20 miles and be able to tell myself that it's just a 10k home. Right knee had been niggling for a while and really wasn't very happy. Weirdly I don't seem to be remember much of this last stretch. Was quite hot, had some gels, saw Fran. Garmin got upset in a tunnel (I've turned into a right clock watcher, almost panicking not to know my pace).
Really happy to finally turn in at Westminster. Birdcage Walk as ever seemed a long way but I managed to run hard and have something of a sprint finish.
Very happy!!
