Running 52:00 [2] 6.3 km (8:15 / km) +266m 6:49 / km
ahr:111 max:146 shoes: VJ Supra

Spent rather too long with faffing tv crews pre race and was both freezing and very unmotivated by the time we were done. Changed down to a blue course and set off with zero warm up. Plodded up to no 1 then switched off completely heading to 2 and decided fairly rapidly I’d be better off just going for a run. Started heading out onto the hill before sitting down for a few mins and deciding that really wasn’t going to happen either. Then plodded slowly back to the finish via the big monument. Feeling generally sore from yesterday as well as drained. R+R needed but happy at least to have had a useful day’s training yesterday.

Orienteering race 32:00 [5] 5.08 km (6:18 / km) +13m 6:13 / km

Tentsmuir middle race. Wanted to use this for proper race practice. Was technically very straight forward but very fast, so good for honing technique at speed. Got caught by LR and AW half way round and worked hard to try and hold them through the remainder. Achilles felt fine after lots of work on it last night and a good warm up.

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2]
shoes: VJ Supra

Not feeling up for it at all but managed to get myself in the right zone after a good long warm up. Short jog after too.

Orienteering race 17:00 [4] 3.09 km (5:30 / km) +12m 5:24 / km

Falkland sprint race. Really hard to get going again for this. Great wee course which found me badly lacking in sprint sharpness both technically and physically. Should have predicted the trick at no 1. Really scrappy on a few other legs too. Need to take more time to read the map and plan properly next weekend.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2]

Decent w-u jog to try and get moving again.

Mortlich from the CC with J, KH, ME and SP. Out by Coull and back by the golf course. Bit of a rude awakening, but good to get back on foot again.

Last blast with J up a wee top above Finse. Steeper than it looked from the map and had to take the skis off to climb the last 100m, but managed to find a nicer line to ski back off. Another blue sky day - sad to be leaving it behind but not sure how much more my body would take anyhow.

Walking 30:00 [2] 6.0 km (5:00 / km) +300m 4:00 / km

Headed off for a short post dinner wander and somehow found myself at the top of the Floybanen with E and A after they decided to chase the sunset. Love Bergen. Out for 1.5h or so.

H-F Day 6 Kjeldebu - Finse
Blue sky day to finish. Awesome. Snow early on was scraping wax off in seconds so had a few issues with grip , skins on, off, wax on, skins on , off etc.At 8km we had an option to take the old winter line (not staked) over a col , more climb but saving 4km. We had heard it had been abandoned due to too many accidents, but given the conditions today it seemed like the best option. And it was just brilliant, with fantastic views and a real feeling of being properly in the mountains. Even better the snow conditions on the descent were fab.
Brilliant tour. Went amazingly to plan. Kit was fine and we had everything we needed (including spare pole :-) Lots of inspiration for the future ....
