Running 1:23:00 [3] 11.3 km (7:21 / km) +250m 6:37 / km
shoes: Hoka speedgoat

Plan was to cross the Dee for a run round Carlogie, but unfortunately yesterday's Ballater rains had raised the flow rather more than anticipated. After 15' of faff we bailed and went for a mixed run on the north side instead. Couple of decent hill efforts including a gratuitous one at the end.
Shoes better this time, but still a bit footsore at the end.

Carn t'Sagairt Mor from Keiloch through Ballochbuie with J. Working steadily on the way up and included a few "efforts" on the way back down. Warm, with 100% humidity which turned to rain higher up the hill. Distant thunder on the way back down was likely the flash storm around Ballater. Good run.

OWS 5:00 [1]

Wee splash in the Dee late afternoon.

Down the DW towards Kinker then across the A93 to river bank and upstream to Dess. River bank looking absolutely fab at the mo with loads of wild flowers and lupins colonising the Storm Frank sediment banks. Chased a heron (or 3?) upstream for a while. Must go back down with a camera some day soon.
Feeling a bit foot sore (soles) by the end - hot-spots from GL3D in new shoes. Hopefully they will improve with another run or two.

Up Mortlich from Boddomend then off the back on the new bull-dozed track (criminal). As I descended I eyed up a nice line across Auchlossan following the ditches to the edge of scrub wood. Have never tried to go back across here so decided to give it a go. After the first 50m of nettles I picked up some good going along the buffer strip and it was mostly nice running to the edge of the bog. Put up 3 big brown hares too. Then therre was more nettlefest at the edge of the scrub, but once across it found an ok line with some animal trods (albeit reminiscent of the Achagour w-u area in places).Eventually popped out just across the road from IBs and back through the woods. Always nice to find a new route - this one is probably best for the winter months.
