Running 52:00 [3] 7.0 km (7:26 / km) +210m 6:28 / km

From LGH out the hilltrack on the Cowal Way to the north along forest edge then loop back steeply down to the village. Then an extra out and back along the lochside road. Dry but low cloud.

Running 7:40 [5] 1.5 km (5:07 / km) +40m 4:31 / km

Had to try and beat RLs time on the LGH maprun course. Knocked 1’ off it but then she went back out and lowered the time by a further 20”.

Orienteering 10:00 [2] 1.5 km (6:40 / km) +40m 5:53 / km

Test of Lochgoilhead maprun course at the outdoor centre. Worked well enough - kind of satisfying to turn up just like that and run an armchair planned course complete with beeps and split timing etc. Seemed to go down well enough with scout leaders too.

Running 55:00 [3] 8.3 km (6:38 / km)

Headed out along the forest track from LGH with RL. Didn't find the path we were looking for and ended up going further before dropping to the shore, only to realise that there wasn't a track all the way back along the bottom. Squelched back along the line of an old track before rejoining outward route, then eventually dropped to village edge and back along shoreline. Rain had eased a bit and was good to get out for some exercise, after spending much of the day watching others getting wet from a distance!

X-country skiing 30:00 [2]

Bit of a ski fail at Allt Cailleach with J. Head not there and didn't enjoy the plodge up the hill through messy snow. Enjoyed the descent even less. The Bothy called again - oh dear. Think I must just be in need of a week of R+R.

Trudge round in >knee deep snow at LoD to check out new bit of map for perm course. Was wearing wellies and feet got absolutely frozen so bailed. Had half planned to go for a ski, but short of time and decided the Bothy called instead.

Desperate times, desperate measures... wasn't sure whether they'd let us into the gym it's so long since we've used it. Mix of aerobic stuff on bike, cross-trainer, steps and treadmill. 10' of hill reps on the latter.
Much nicer day, but a lot of snow to disappear before running is much fun again.

Running 20:00 [3] 3.0 km (6:40 / km)

Short trot round Aboyne whilst others doing maprun. Out through the woods towards the school and back by the green. Felt quite good. Best place to be running at the mo.
