Up to x-Rds, E on Tar Rd then back down by the wee back road to Lumphanan. Cruising but can't get up the hill without working quite hard. Legs etc. fine, but emotionally drained.

Orienteering 50:00 [2]

Rude awakening up the steep slopes of E Creag Choinnich. Grinning once I was up there though.

Wednesday Aug 2, 2017 #

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2] 2.0 km (7:30 / km)

W-u before sprint

Orienteering race 15:00 [5] 2.8 km (5:21 / km) +40m 5:00 / km

Ballater sprint - my only race of the week. Felt quite fresh and nailed it all v smoothly. Probably cleanest ever sprint. Can only think of 2x2 sec hesitations. 2nd FV to CW

Orienteering 45:00 [2] 4.1 km (10:59 / km) +240m 8:29 / km

Checking controls for D4 at Creag Choinnich. Looking great.

OWS 18:00 [2] 0.48 km (37:30 / km)

Stopped off at Loch Kinord on the way home. Just caught J heading off and dragged him back in again. Nice.

Monday Jul 31, 2017 #

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Jog up to near the blue start - feeling lethargic

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3]

Ran round W45L at Balfour. Not v focussed and plenty of room for improvement with the nav, but nice to be out and see what the forest was like for real. Good job by the planning team and turned out even better than I had dared hope.
