Running warm up/down 25:00 [2] 3.5 km (7:09 / km)

As expected feeling a bit heavy-legged from the last couple of days, so wanted a decent w-u ahead of the race. Then I just had to dig in and let it hurt as it shouldn't be too long.

Orienteering race 42:00 [5] 5.8 km (7:14 / km) +50m 6:57 / km

CSC at Tenstsmuir. Green women (W45+). 2nd to KN, W20 JWOC runner - beat the oldies at least :-)
Mostly really happy with how this went today. Attacked well and was managing to plan ahead. Just need to let myself take a little more time to make decisions as I lost a bit from rushing. Biggest mistake was heading to 7 where I stopped early on the wrong "ridge", but realised quite quickly and corrected (1'?). Small hesitation before 5 (should have slowed) and started heading from 8-10 thinking I was at 9, leading to a banana (20"?). Positive for the first proper race of 2017.

Road cycling 1:23:00 [3] 27.7 km (3:00 / km) +300m 2:51 / km

Past DAP to Lumph, over towards Torphins then onto the back roads behind the vilage and on to Campfield. Glassel, Craiglash and back through Kinker. Nice route, nice ride. Delayed until pm and it brightened up nicely.

Wasn't sure what to do today. Feeling a bit creaky in various places (right knee, occasional back spasms, left inside heel etc.) which I reckon is due in part to quite a lot of distance on harder surfaces recently (not to mention knee on hard surface). So, plumped for Morven in the end in the hope that I could get a decent strength workout without any extra impact stress.
A bit of a grey day, but the rain stayed off and the climb didn't feel too bad. No snow until the second plateau and from there if anything it made things easier, smoothing out the rocky bits. Two ptarmigan near the summit - don't recall seeing any up there for many years? Trotted back down at a leisurely pace taking the race route diversion to avoid the steep descent. Really enjoyable.

From CC out along the DW to the gliding strip (16') and back from end of intervals.

Running intervals 30:00 [5] 4.8 km (6:15 / km)

5x4'+2' on the DW. Still feel like I'm running tired, but got better once I got going. Managed to catch a good weather window.

Jog to start of WeTT training and back up the hill from the finish

Orienteering 43:00 [3] 3.6 km (11:57 / km) +50m 11:10 / km

WeTT at Shooting Greens. Diagonal downhill zig-zaggy course in 3 sections. Lost the pack very quickly - just can't move fast enough in this rough stuff at night. After that was quite hesitant about whether I was in the right place. Know I wasn't a few times, but pleased I managed to relocate and get back on track a couple of times. Couldn't have expected it to go any better on tired legs.

Set off from Cambus to do a long interval run, but by the time I'd got to the edge of the plantation heading over to BoV I realised I was still v tired from Sun session. So changed plans and went for a low intensity trot through the terrain above the power line ride instead. Sometime just need to go with what your body's telling you.

Wee run round Allt Cailleach on the bike to check it out for schools festival. Still a bit of snow lying in places. Chain / gear repairs seemed alright to start but more mechanical issues by the end... time to get someone who knows what they're doing onto it.
