Orienteering race 1:31:00 [4]

Very tired this morning after a heavy week. Lost time at 5 (stupid) and 7 (bingo non existent ditch end) and then just struggled physically for the rest. Rammed the side of my foot off a rock heading for 2 which didn't help with the terrain running.
Didn't give myself the best chance after Sat races - poor rehydration and no warm down or stretching. Did enjoy good chat at the hostel with PS and random German MBing visitor who turned out to be an orienteer too.

Orienteering race 32:00 [5]

Middle distance at Dunachtonmore. Good race. Lost time at 8 where I mis-interpreted a boulder as a crag and couldn't interpret the detail - crag was only 20m behind me, but lost 30s+. Won the green course and first time running sub 7.5m/km for a while. Not the best planned middle (too many samey short legs and poorly sited highly visible controls) but very enjoyable all the same.

Kingussie sprint. Pretty smooth race. Not very technically challenging but once again enjoyable. 1st FV and only 15s down on EH.

Up Morven with WB to tape the course for hill race. Wicked headwind on the way up - no records tomorrow if it stays like that. Out for 2:45.

FBX with Ruth. Mostly ok apart from some of the upper body strength bits.

Core. This is the bit that kills me. Reminded myself to look around and sure enough the lads next to me had given up trying to emulate Ruth too.

Planned to run at lunchtime but feeling tired and a bit low so decided R+R a better plan. Cycled down to the village to get take-away for E's b'day, but suspect the prawn crackers more than negated any training benefit.

Running 1:55:00 [3]

Day off so chance to get another long run in. From ToEss up towards the Guard then right along the track from the high point. Left round Baudy Meg, then left again at the dam. Up to the high point and reverse of Tues night run. Didn't meet the rogue caper, but got a ticking off from the ranger guard for ignoring the signs. Lovely running day and feeling pretty good - time seemed to pass quickly. Ice bath in the Tanar after.
