Orienteering 1:19:00 [4]

Inchmarnoch brown course. Not really up for this either physically or mentally. Forest seemed much rougher and tougher than 2 years ago with a lot of brash underfoot and thinning work etc. Various bits of bumbling at control sites, mostly from a lack of focus.

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2]

Short jog before the start and collected in a few controls, mainly walking.

Mountain biking 45:00 [2]

Parked at Dinnet and cycled in to Cambus Bridge. Also along to Crannoch for a hot choc and then back to pick up a few controls.

Hill Race race 38:50 [5]

Braemar Games. Didn't feel too great at the start, but ok once I got onto the main climb and seemed to pass quite a few in the second half of it. Didn't do what I intended on the descent - drawn too far down by others and ended up going down the track through the fence. Might have cost me the places to 2 ladies who overtook me in the car park and field. Tried to chase them down going round the track but they had a few years on me. Pretty happy with the time, especially given the conditions - v wet both underfoot and overhead.

Reccied the bottom half of the route, but still got it wrong in the race - head down following others. Must do a proper reccy before next time.

Mingin day and not feeling very lively, achey back etc. Easy jog round the woods late afternoon.

Lap of H'head at lunchtime. Legs a bit heavy but ok otherwise.

Running hills 28:00 [5]

14 x 1'+1' hills up the diagonal track at Glen T. Seemed to be able to hang in with the pack better than sometimes and the minutes passed quite quickly. Maybe the hill race effect is starting to kick in. Feeling good!

Running warm up/down 32:00 [2]

To start of intervals and back from top of hill. Didn't time it. An even more amazing Tues evening than the last few weeks. Last of the light across the hills was stunning.

With the slow group at AR club which didn't involve too much running. 29 kids - help!
