Running yesterday was probably a bad move in hindsight. Went downhill afterwards and crawled into bed as soon as we got home. Feeling v weak today although at least my appetite is coming back. Not felt like this for a long time - don't do ill ;-(

So no great surprises that the 6D didn't really work for me this year - just not enough focus on O recently to iron out all those little errors, and not enough terrain training to get through the week in good shape. Camping felt "hard" and planning took a lot out of me.
Being more positive I was a very proud mum to see E rise to the occasion so well without any pushing. I also got a lot out of the planning experience and really appreciated all of the positive comments about courses from people that I hold in great respect.

S6D6 Coulmony. Almost didn't start - nauseous and feverish overnight with a stonking headache. Got some sports drink down me and got to the start feeling a bit brighter so decided o give it a go. Glad I did as it was the nicest area of the week with well planned courses. Made a couple of mistakes early on but then fairly smooth through the rest. Only problem was the sole that came off shoe and was flapping through the bogs towards the end.
Terrain got a lot quicker later, so another disappointing position.

Orienteering race 55:00 [5]

S6D5 Roseisle. Just feeling really washed out this morning and an early start wasn't what I needed. First half went ok but then got really scrappy again in the second half. Not v impressive.

Good long jog to the start.

Waking up controls at LoB. Got back to finish to realise I'd missed 3 and had to run back out again.

Running 30:00 [3]

Other bits of running about during the event. Managed to get others to collect controls in though.
All went pretty well on the day.

Orienteering race 53:00 [5]

S6D3 at Culbin. Went better today but still missing a few minutes with small errors. Walked back from the remote finish to discover finish time hadn't registered - some wee s****e had pushed me out of the way on the line when my dibber was still in the unit. Thanks to Robin for figuring out my run in split and reinstating me.

Control hanging at LoB for day 4. Tired.

S6D2 at Carse of Ardersier. Really scrappy race with silly mistakes. Trying to push too hard.
