From parking at end of Loch Stack into the foot of Arkle with J and E on bike. Back again after walk. Still not feeling great on the way in (lifting muscles still struggling) and rubbish on the way out.
Ice bath in the river felt good.
Walking1:30:00 [2]
Up Arkle, along ridge and back via descent from the middle col. Fantastic mountain. Weather cleared up nicely and lots of sun by the end. Ravens, some big deer in the scree and clumps of cloudberry at one spot right on the summit ridge.
Legs feeling ok for hill walking.
Out for 3:45h total.
Stretching15:00 [1]
No excuses this week- lots of space in the cottage fir stretching.
Note
Back in time to watch most of Murray's match - woo hoo :))))) liked the shot of Salmond with the saltire behind Cameron too
From S Greens. Set off with J and Graeme with the intention of turning back after 10' or so. Calf felt fine, but rest of legs were awful- lifting muscles and hamstrings. Decided to go a bit further so continued to ride below Hill of Gouach then turned left down it and back from the next track. Really enjoyed the run although legs weren't feeling good.
Probably won't do much tomorrow.
Stretching15:00 [1]
Note
Leg massage in the afternoon which has hopefully given me a new set of legs to survive a week's holiday
From home to Cambus on the DW (on the road from birdman to end of Aboyne). Pushing the pace as I wasn't sure how long it would take and kept giving myself targets for each section. Into the wind all the way too.
Stretching20:00 [1]
Usual plus lots more calf stretching, raises and massage. Feeling good. Might run tomorrow.
Got off to a false start on finding my bike with a flat ripped back tyre - don't you just love bikes?
Down the DW to bridge, Lumphanan, Pitmurchie rd and back by the DW from Kinker. Felt very flat (just like my tyre) but much better for the exercise.
Stretching20:00 [1]
Usual set plus lots of calf stretching and raises. Calf improving but not ready to run for a day or two yet.
