Orienteering race 58:00 [4]

Allt Cailleach blue course. Went pretty well, just a couple of wobbles at 5 and 15, but probably only lost ~1' total. Felt not too bad once I got going. Amazing day: 17.5C on the way up to the event.

Running intervals 20:00 [5]

Made up a new game out behind the house. 8 x reps of ~1' flat, 1.5' jog recovery downhill, ~30" hill effort back to starting point. Gradually wound myself up into it as the session progressed. Flat reps were: 55", 57, 57, 57, 54, 53, 52, 51.

Cracking bike ride with E. From A93 N of Trustach Hill, east along single track to Inver Canny, on big tracks / road down to river then back W along river to Woodend House and N to A93 again. Really enjoyed it. Shame about all the "private" signs.

Running 50:00 [3]

From Cambus, round the 2 bottom ponds then out on the track below the quarry, across the burn and down to the loch. Lots of toads in action, including 1 poor female being swamped by half a dozen males. Across the A93 to the DW and back with a detour up to the monument. Relaxed run. Feeling rubbish again, but this time because my legs were actually tired, rather than just no energy, so progress maybe.

Running hills 20:00 [4]

2 x 5 x 1' + 1' on the bottom of the Fungle with jog back down between the sets. Feeling pretty rubbish, but worked through it and did the 2nd set better than the first.

Just took it steady. Too much tea before for anything to strenuous and still feeling below par anyhow.

Running 30:00 [2]

Went up to Aboyne for DR. Jogged to the Green feeling wappit and did the warm-ups still feeling wappit, so decided not to even start the intervals. Jogged straight back. Nothing wrong with the legs etc. just energy levels. Probably a combination of heady cold and working too hard.
