Orienteering race 49:00 [4]

Local event at Dess. Excellent training even knowing where most of the control sites were. Tried to work hard to make a decent physical session out of it too. Amused by DK racing past me several times, doing a few extra hill reps in the process.

Relaxed cycle from gliding strip to Cambus bridge and back with J and E. Fantastic day. This w/e has been so much better than forecast.

With J and E at Glenshee. Pretty bright day, but skiing getting a bit Scottish.

From Cambus bridge west towards Ballater through Cambus, round to the Tullich Burn and through the woods to join mast track above PofB. Across the bridge in Ballater and back by the new path on the south side through Inchmarnoch. Good run at a more respectable pace than of late. Feeling alive this morning after best night's sleep in ages. Much brighter day and milder than expected too. Run was a bit longer than intended, but don't think it has done foot any harm.

Short bike ride with E round woods in Aboyne then through Castle grounds to golf course. Good excuse for hot chocolate and cake at the BFS.

Been doing lots of stretches on the foot and calfs but the standard routine has been getting forgotten.

DNC at Forvie. Really enjoyed this. Navigated really cleanly up to no 11 and then fell apart a bit at the end. Good course. Wild night - glad of hat and gloves and never overheated with them. Foot felt fine apart from tweaking my ankle slightly at one stage.

Easy trot around the woods with a headtorch. Lovely moonlit night.

Note

Saw the physio who had a good go at a tight bit in the plantar of my right foot. Think this should get sorted quite quickly with appropriate tlc.

Note

CBA with the gym - enjoyed 1/2 hour poolside chat instead. Calfs much better today, but heel still tender. Time to see the physio.
