Orienteering race 1:14:00 [5]

Cambus brown course. Steady run, only a couple of wobbles tiring near the end. Didn't feel too bad running for the end of quite a heavy week, although felt like I was standing still when Spongey came past.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2]

Round the white course with E and a couple of laps of the car park.

Running 1:15:00 [3]

A bit of a peak bagging run up Clashenteple Hill and Ladylee Hill. Started from the forestry track on the wee back road behind Ben Newe. Ran along the track to below the first peak, then scrambled up through thick plantation to the edge of the forest. Out on the open the running was quite good, but a bit slippy with some snow on the ground. From the top of Clashenteple, Ladylea looked a long way through the mist, but really wasn't too far. Steep climb though. Returned by the big forestry track. Felt very rough at the start but running much better by the finish. Nippy away from the sun.

Coyles of Muick from the bridge over the Muick. Wet snow on the ground and wet overhead at the start, but soon climbed above the valley cloud and it was really atmospheric higher up with cloud swirling around Lochnagar etc. Made a real bodge of the return route and was very slow descending the slushy wet grass. Cold and wet back again down in the valley bottom.

Note

Lunch in Ballater and a very pleasant walk up Craigendarroch with J, E, R and T.

Running hills 20:00 [5]

5 x 2' + 2' on the hill above DAP. Long long time since I've done this session and was barely reaching my old "lower limit", but no worse than I expected. Felt tough.

Walk up Bennachie with J and E. Lovely day with a cover of snow on higher ground. Whizzed up the hill in under an hour.

From gliding strip to Dinnet and back with J and E. Brrr - snow on Morven and starting to sleet as we finished.

Running intervals 30:00 [5]

DR in Aboyne. What a bunch of wimps - where were they all? All time low of me + 2 others. Reverted to the old route round the village with 10 x 2' + 1'. Good session.

Running warm up/down 30:00 [3]

Usual warm-up out across the river, and back from the end of intervals.

Ballogie loop from Pottie. Felt slow but hill was ok.
