Running 45:00 [2]

Didn't really have to do much today. Guess that's supposed to be positive for the controller, but it was a bit boring hanging around although nice to have plenty of time to chat. Took E round the white course and even managed to get him to hold and occasionally look at the map. Collected in a few controls too.

Checking the rest of the controls at Glen Dye. Went over on my R ankle early on, but seems OK. Streams are back down to normal levels and all is set for tomorrow.

Hanging controls for Sunday's event at Glen Dye. Just as well the event wasn't today as the burns were uncrossable. Wimped out and diverted 300m to a bridge at one point. Otherwise forest was lovely.

Running hills 20:00 [5]

Peeing down all day. Stopped at E end of Hill of Fare on the way home - knew that once I got home I'd never get out of the house again. Did 5 x 2' with 2' jog back on the direct route up to the mast. Felt I was getting reasonable distance. From clump of heather near bottom - 2m short of ride, far side of ride, to ride, 10m short of ride, 2m short of ride.

Round the bottom track out and back before and after. Felt virtuous at the end. Actually managed 2 (short) interval sessions this week - wow!

Intervals at H'head. 15 x 1' + 1'. Took a couple to get going, but then didn't seem too bad. Definitely better distance than the last time I did minutes at H'head.

E in school 'til 2:30, so time for a lunchtime run with J. Up Pressendye from McRobert estate office. Not feeling great before we started, but settled into it and managed to run all the way up, so can't have been too bad. 43' to the top. Returned via hill race route on good tracks and road. Ran in road shoes and feet felt fine - I think my old Inov8s are heading for the bin.

Used the little balls. Fun and worked well.
