First ever track race! Just coming to this athletics thing a little bit late... ;-)
Wasn't too sure about times - ran 10:39 last year so decided to pace for a 10:30, but went through 2km and realised that I wasn't really working very hard! Felt really strong overtaking people on the last two laps & like there was plenty more to give.
I remember everything burning last time but this felt pretty comfortable, definitely some more seconds to give if I paced it better. Good confidence boost anyway & at least I know what I'm doing for next time now :P I think I even had fun!
