Practicing starts. -1 box, picking up map, running to start kite, being calm & picking good routes. Did about 12 of them with various numbers of controls/leg lengths. Went well because I was concentrating today! Go figure :)

61 control epic around a really brilliant technical area! Brain was doing well until 35 & then I think it reached capacity! Stopped to refocus, but struggled to do anything other than remember where I was at that moment from then on let alone plan ahead!

Bannockburn W21E course - ran 1-5 hard & the 1st 100m of the long leg to force me to plan it. Jogged to 8, then 8-14 hard, & easy into the finish. Enjoyed :)

MSR. Pretty rubbish on my part :( messed up the triple level bit right at the start & then lost motivation when I could see everyone else one loop ahead. Trying to find some positives but really just needed to be concentrating more/less tired.

Twice round sprint loop. 1st just normal trying to ignore the tv guys. 2nd time worked on cutting the corners & not hesitating so much - 17 seconds faster! Amazing how much I lost faffing on the longer legs first time round.

2 more easy paced sprint loops - planning ahead / control flow practice. Good little area!

Relay time! 1st leg - women's mass start urban race - loved it :-) Totally different gaffles. Saw absolutely nobody the whole race, so was killing it thinking I'd been dropped at the first control when I was actually ahead of the pack who were all on the other course!! Felt really good & speedy!

And then we went in the forest...! tried to race but i have a serious lack of enthusiasm for tussocks & spikey bushes - just doesn't envoke the same joy as a nice housing estate! ;-)

Race 2 of the Woodland5 series - same woman I raced last time was there. Didn't fancy suffering it out for the entire last loop again (too painful!), so just sat on her shoulder, let her think she was winning & had faith my sprint finish was better ;-) A much easier tactic!
