Orienteering race 39:56 [4] 8.36 km (4:47 / km) +50m 4:38 / km

Guildford (Burpham) Urban Race - Fuuuun :)
Fairly straightforward residential course - so I map memorised 2 legs at a time to make things a bit trickier. Also to speed me up and stop me faffing about, the idea being better control flow and planning ahead.
Really like racing, so much better than a boring training run. Really going to make the effort to try and do something fast every weekend, even if it is only the parkrun. It's what I need if I am ever going to get properly fitter.
All in all fun to go somewhere new and explore a little bit of Surrey. Also urban races are pretty much the only things I can get to without a car for the time being!

Got massive shin cramps and couldn't keep going. Hopefully this isn't anything serious, just my body reminding me that it doesn't like to run on roads too often, especially not after a big session like yesterday. Back to the gym.
Stopped for cake on the way home which made things infinitely better :)

4 x 1200m with 90sec active recovery
Not too hard - 5min 20sec a rep - first time my ankle has felt completely pain free running :)

Running intervals 8:00 [4] 2.0 km (4:00 / km)

200 hard, 200 easy x 5

Running 18:00 [3] 3.4 km (5:18 / km)

High intensity spin class - really good that it's so short but totally exhausting! Pushed on hard.

S&C 25:00 [1]

Core/weights at the gym. Rolled out after all this and felt much better and not so painful calves.

Massively hurting calves - painful to even walk, so I think running would be silly. I am warming up/down so not too sure what is causing this - maybe just my body getting used to exercise again??
