Found a new gym that is only £10 a month so I couldn't refuse some cross training fun! Especially after a triathlon filled day <3

Foam rolling and stretching, can't really class as training though.

Running to the parkrun and back home along the river

Running tempo 22:30 [4] 5.0 km (4:30 / km)

Reading Parkrun - knew it would be mega slow, but thought if I set a benchmark of what I can do completely unfit after 6 weeks out then it will motivate me to see how much training makes a difference to my times.

Was on the same time as this last Christmas and had taken 2 minutes off by Easter, so I'm still optimistic that I can eventually go sub 20.

Also this one was almost all in fields and mud - great for my shins, not so much for fast times or trainers!! Need better footwear choices next time :P

Still had tight calves from Wednesday so had a nice easy run to loosen them off. Explored up towards Emmer Green, thought I would have found some parks but I don't seem to have gone far enough. Got nicely soaked through which was refreshing and greatly needed after a long day in the office :)

Drills, running style, general warm up

Running 20:00 [3] 3.6 km (5:33 / km)

My first ever track session - loved it!! Even though i didn't return home for 13 hours today and I am absolutely exhausted haha.

Session - started at a comfortable aerobic pace and then increased the speed a little every 200m until we reached anaerobic threshold x 3

Then we had to do a flat out 400m as a benchmark after all this! 75 seconds... slooooow! Only improvements to be made :)

Had to run home in a lot of rain, boooo!

Wish I could have done more, but sooo knackered by the time I've got the train home from work and done studying/cooking dinner etc etc. Hopefully I'll get a more training focused routine going soon.
Think I'm going to make the other long trip to the athletics track tomorrow night and see if there is some kind of intervals session occurring or a cross country team to join!

Wahoooo! Taped my ankle to death and it survived :D
Having a massive runners high after 6 weeks of nothing!
Just took it really easy on the flat along the river bank. Felt like I couldn't breathe most of the way, but hopefully if I just stay sensible and out of terrain for a while then improvements will occur quite quickly.

Also the River Thames is ridiculously beautiful :)
